It was only a matter of time before a referee was physically assaulted. The game should be ashamed of itself. For the gross amount of money in football how has rugby got it so right and football so so wrong. Major changes needed.

The British FAs should introduce this immediately :- Only captains are allowed to speak to the referee. Players who crowd around the referee get yellow cards with no appeal plus fine Shouting at the referee is a red card with no appeal plus heavy fine Pushing the referee is a longer suspension and a fine for the club. Punching the referee is physical assault and should be a criminal charge. This will stop it and set the example to others

As a grassroots referee, what chance have we got on Sundays when we see owners behaving like this? I can understand managers and players to a certain extent, as long as there's respect and control, but when an owner enters the field and assaults a match official like this then we know we have a lot of work to do from top to bottom. Jail and a ban of at least 10 years from any involvement in sport should follow to set a standard.

Fourth-tier Moneyfields became the lowest-ranked side to reach this season's Women's FA Cup fourth round with a 1-0 home win over Millwall on Sunday.
Fifth-tier Luton Town will become the lowest-ranked team if they beat fourth-division Keynsham Town on 17 December. Sunday's tie was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.
There are still three spots in today's fourth-round draw to be decided after Sunday's postponements.
The Football Association has doubled the prize money for this season's Women's FA Cup from the third round onwards.
That comes after a ten-fold increase last season.
Winning clubs in the last round received £35,000 and that increases to £54,000 in the fourth round.
The competition's total prize fund for this season is now £6m.
