    Amy Canavan
    BBC Scotland at McDiarmid Park

This is right open, here. Mark my words, there will be goals*. We nearly had one with Liam Gordon...

Graham Carey is here, there and everywhere for Saints, while Jair has had some lovely touches for Hibs.

Two players thriving under their new managers.

*Apologies for the destined 0-0 result at 5pm.

  2. GREAT SAVE!published at 15:38 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2023

    Celtic 0-2 Hearts

Celtic beginning to exert some pressure.

David Turnbull receives outside the box and strikes beautifully with the left foot and it's an equally impressive save from Zander Clark.

  3. Postpublished at 15:36 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2023

    St Mirren 0-0 Motherwell

Plenty of this game is being played in the St Mirren third of the pitch, but Motherwell have created absolutely nothing so far.

  4. 'Hearts in incredible position'published at 15:36 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2023

    Celtic 0-2 Hearts

    Pat Bonner
Former Celtic goalkeeper on BBC Sportsound

It was quality. It was a brilliant free-kick, over the top of the wall, bending in. It actually goes in halfway up from ground level.

Watching where Joe Hart was, he looked as if he gave a lot to that side and he dived full length and he was still well away from it. The pace beat him, the accuracy beat him.

Great goal from Hearts to put them in an incredible position.

    Livingston 0-0 Kilmarnock

Marley Watkins has gone down off the ball and it he's unable to continue.

The Killie forward made such a difference off the bench against Celtic last week but he'll now be replaced by Andrew Dallas.

  6. 'Celtic fans not happy'published at 15:34 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2023

    Celtic 0-2 Hearts

    Kheredine Idessane
    BBC Scotland at Celtic Park

What a stunning set piece from Stephen Kingsley, and what a scoreline we have here. The home side two goals down inside half an hour. The Celtic support is not happy at all with what they've seen in the first half hour. Little wonder. Celtic haven't been at it at all, in all areas of the park. They have it all to do now.

  8. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 15:31 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2023

    St Johnstone 0-0 Hibernian

Max Kucheriavyi heads in, with help of a large deflection, from a deep corner. However, Saints midfielder Diallang Jaiyesimi is offside and interfering with play by blocking David Marshall on the goal line.

  9. goal

GOAL Celtic 0-2 Heartspublished at 15:30 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2023

    Stephen Kingsley

    Wow!

It's a great strike from Stephen Kingsley from a free-kick to double Hearts' advantage. Another one for his compilation.

Celtic were unhappy about the award of the foul following Cameron Carter-Vickers' challenge on Nathaniel Atkinson.

  10. Postpublished at 15:27 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2023

    Ross County 0-0 Dundee

Off the line again! And it's Jordan McGhee again!

Simon Murray collects a long ball, shifts it onto his right and drills past Trevor Carson... But McGhee is there to block once more. He's made more saves than his keeper so far.

  11. Postpublished at 15:26 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2023

    Livingston 0-0 Kilmarnock

Just in case you needed a reminder of how influential Danny Armstrong is for Kilmarnock, the winger has had 27 touches so far.

The visiting player closest to his tally is defender Lewis Mayo, with 15.

For Livingston, the outfielder with the most touches is Mikey Devlin with 17.

  12. 'Deadly dozen games for Shankland'published at 15:25 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2023

    Celtic 0-1 Hearts

    Kheredine Idessane
    BBC Scotland at Celtic Park

He's their captain, and their main man when it comes to goals. Here's why: Lawrence Shankland has now scored nine goals in his last 12 matches. And this one isn't even half an hour old.

    St Mirren 0-0 Motherwell

Stephen Robinson is out on the edge of his technical area barking orders at his St Mirren charges.

Both teams are struggling to keep hold of the ball in the blustery conditions.

  14. Postpublished at 15:23 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2023

    Ross County 0-0 Dundee

The first chance of note in Dingwall - and it comes to the hosts.

Simon Murray whips a cross to the back post, Ben Purrington is there to head in... But Jordan McGhee makes an incredible block to deny a certain goal.

  15. Postpublished at 15:23 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2023

    Celtic 0-1 Hearts

    Celtic press for parity.

Luis Palma makes a very Luis Palma play by cutting in from the left but his shot is wayward.

Other than an early Zander Clark save to deny Greg Taylor, it's been a pretty tame opening 20 minutes from the champions.

  16. 'Traditional fare at Tannadice'published at 15:22 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2023

    Dundee United 0-0 Raith Rovers

    Kenny Crawford
    BBC Sport Scotland at Tannadice

This is good old traditional football fare we’re feasting on here. Strong challenges, fast paced, end-to-end and supporters behind the goals riling the goalkeepers every time they take a kick of the ball.

Chris Mochrie has warmed the palms of Raith’s Kevin Dabrowski with a low shot but we’re still waiting on a real clear-cut chance.

    Celtic 0-1 Hearts

    Kheredine Idessane
    BBC Scotland at Celtic Park

And there it is; the kind of good start Hearts were dreaming of last night. As he did at Ibrox a while back, Lawrence Shankland heads the Tynecastle side into the lead in Glasgow.

The small band of Hearts fans celebrate loudly. The home supporters are looking for an instant reaction. Game on here, no doubt about that.

  19. CLOSE!published at 15:16 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2023

    St Mirren 0-0 Motherwell

Big chance for St Mirren to strike first in Paisley.

It's fired across goal to the unmarked Greg Kiltie, but he slips as he goes to shoot and miskicks his effort just over the bar.
