The home side are straight on it.

Good play in midfield sees the ball eventually worked out to Leif Davis who is up high from his left-back berth.

He knocks it out his feet and hits a fierce strike at goal that Anthony Patterson parries up into the air.

The away side win a free-kick to alleviate the pressure.

A 2-2 draw at Birmingham City was bittersweet for Swansea boss Luke Williams in his first league game in charge. His side went in front twice, but conceded a 95th-minute equaliser.

"You expect that you can see the game out," Williams told BBC Radio Wales. "There was so little time left when we conceded, but I don't think we have the right to be too disappointed," he said.

"I don't think Birmingham should go away from the game with no points at all because they created good chances."

Blues were unable to find the net early in the game, but continually created opportunities which followed the visitors giving away possession.

"The timing of arriving to take the ball was wrong. Some of the detail in the pass was scruffy," Williams admitted. "These things are not good enough to play clean football."

We have to make sure we stay switched on for the full 90 minutes.

Ipswich are the best at coming from behind, we supposedly are the best at holding onto a lead, but I think there are more goals in this game.

    Tony MowbrayImage source, Rex Features

Birmingham City's new boss Tony Mowbray has promised that in time, he can turn around the fortunes of his side.

His first match in charge ended in a 2-2 draw at home to Swansea, who led twice at St Andrew's, before Blues substitute Jordan James scored in added time to rescue a point for the hosts.

"I was pleased that we created chances, particularly in the first half," Mowbray told BBC Radio WM.

"We should have scored more than the goals that we did. I'm not sure they deserved to score two goals. I thought we managed them pretty well."

Birmingham could have secured all three points had Swansea goalkeeper Carl Rushworth not made a string of saves and Mowbray knows that there are plenty of positives to take.

"I learned a lot about the team, he added. "We still need to look forward more, pass forward more. It is hard to change the whole ethos of a team in three or four days."

  9. Schumacher praises Baker's 'worldie'published at 18:34 Greenwich Mean Time 13 January

    FT: Rotherham 0-1 Stoke

Stoke edged out bottom side Rotherham in what is fair to say was not a showpiece Championship fixture.

Lewis Baker's stunning free-kick was all that separated the sides and gave the Potters victory.

“It was exceptional, an absolute worldie and obviously the goal that wins us the game. Lewis (Baker) has got so much quality, he can strike the ball so well with both feet," Potters boss Steven Schumacher told BBC Radio Stoke.

“As soon as he was stood over it, me and Hughesy (assistant Mark Hughes) said ‘we fancy him’ because we see him do that in training, day in, day out.

“He had a tough time with a serious injury at the start of the season and he’s probably a little bit off the level of match sharpness he can get to but he’s going to be such an important player for us, as a midfielder that can score goals."

  10. 'Blame me, not the players'published at 18:32 Greenwich Mean Time 13 January

    FT: West Brom 4-1 Blackburn

Blackburn are a side lacking form and lacking confidence and today's chastening 4-1 defeat by West Brom plunged them further down the Championship table.

Boss Jon Dahl Tomasson told BBC Radio Lancashire that he does not blame his players for mistakes after the defeat.

"Don't blame the players for individual mistakes, give the coach the blame," he said.

"If you look at the whole game we were just as good as West Brom but games are won in each box, by winning personal duels and are you smelling danger and scoring goals? That's football.

"November was a good month for Rovers, December was not a good month, a period when there were too many games for a stretched squad."

  11. 'Southampton deserved the win'published at 18:30 Greenwich Mean Time 13 January

    FT: Southampton 4-0 Sheffield Wednesday

    Danny RöhlImage source, Rex Features

Sheffield Wednesday are now four points from safety in the Championship after a 4-0 defeat at Southampton equalled their worst loss of the season.

Owls boss Danny Rohl admitted to BBC Radio Sheffield that his side's opponents were a different level.

“Southampton deserved the win, they have a lot of quality," he said. "They showed from the goals they scored that they have enough to get back into the Premier League."

"For us, it is a different fight and I can accept this. In the second half we had some good moments but always, if you start to try something, you’re more open and you see that quality that can hurt you."

Rohl lamented the fact that striker Ashley Fletcher, who came on as a substitute at half-time, was unable to take an opportunity to equalise when the score was 1-0.

“In this kind of game you have to do everything right to take something," he said. "You need a little bit of luck in some moments. We can learn from this game and now we go forward.”

  12. 'A brilliant Saints performance'published at 18:29 Greenwich Mean Time 13 January

    FT: Southampton 4-0 Sheffield Wednesday

    Adam ArmstrongImage source, Rex Features

Southampton have plenty of reason to celebrate tonight. Not only have they thumped Sheffield Wednesday 4-0 to move up to second in the Championship table - for the time being - but they have now gone 19 games without a league defeat.

That has equalled their club record, which stretches back over 100 years.

"It was a brilliant performance," Saints boss Russell Martin told BBC Radio Solent.

"There were some amazing moments, some brilliant goals, some really top performances, another clean sheet. The lads were incredible and I am proud of them."

Martin was particularly pleased that strikers Che Adams and Adam Armstrong both scored in back-to-back games for the club. He added: "Adam did what he has done all season.

"He’s been immense. He wants to play number nine so he is still a bit annoyed at me about that but it’s incredible what he does for the team. He’s so reliable."

  13. 'O'Hare deserves all the plaudits'published at 18:27 Greenwich Mean Time 13 January

    FT: Coventry 3-1 Leicester

Coventry's match winner against Leicester, Callum O'Hare, becomes a free agent in the summer, and boss Mark Robins insists the club want to keep him.

After their win against the league leaders, Robins told BBC CWR: "We can only do so much but we will 100% want to keep him."

On O'Hare's role in the squad he said: "Looking at characteristics of people in teams, he epitomises what we want to do. He is brave, goes after things, a good communicator, an effervescent character and has added goalscoring to it.

"He deserves all the plaudits he gets."

The win extends Coventry's unbeaten run to nine games, and Robins thinks this result was extra special.

"I thought we were brilliant. It was one of the best performances we've had this season, in many seasons."

Warm applause from 29,000 plus at Portman Road.

What Sunderland have come up with is basically a 4-2-4.

Movement about the pitch takes them into different spaces.

They are occupying all of our defenders and it is working a treat, making it difficult for us to come out from the back like we normally do.

  16. HALF-TIMEpublished at 18:21 Greenwich Mean Time 13 January

    Ipswich 1-1 Sunderland

An even game between two sides chasing promotion and we're level at the break.

Jack Clarke thundered the away side into the lead after a fairly quiet opening 25 minutes before Kayden Jackson equalised for the home side.

Ipswich will go back up to second if this stays as it is but the way that first half ended I think there's more goals to come.
