Its been frenetic and fun, but now it's time to slip off for a relaxing Sunday afternoon.

We'll be back right here on Friday evening when strugglers Sheffield Wednesday host Birmingham in another slice of the Championship action.

We hope you can join us then.

    Thanks for your company.

If you've recovered enough, you can take a look at Matt Newsum's match report right here.

  3. 'Boro can still make the play-offs'published at 14:13 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February

    FT: Middlesbrough 1-1 Sunderland

    Neil Maddison
Former Middlesbrough midfielder on BBC Tees

It is so disappointing not to get three points.

You have got to win your home games. The next home match against Bristol City is a must-win game.

But, don't discount the play-offs just yet.

Two or three defeats and then you can start saying 'it's over'. I am not writing them off just yet.

  4. 'Draw is not the end of the world'published at 14:11 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February

    FT: Middlesbrough 1-1 Sunderland

Sunderland skipper Luke O'Nien told Sky Sports:

"To come away with a point is not the end of the world, but we would have liked all three.

"First half we got it right a lot of the time, but second half tactically they locked on and did very well so credit to them.

"Like any game we have to problem solve and we did that in the last 20 minutes."

  5. 'It feels like Boro have lost'published at 14:10 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February

    FT: Middlesbrough 1-1 Sunderland

Middlesbrough defender Rav van den Berg speaking to BBC Tees:

"It feels like we lost it, especially as it feels like we played quite good first half.

"It's disappointing to concede a goal and get a 1-1 draw here.

"I think we should have scored another goal and then it would have been an easy win.

"But, we move onto (next Saturday's game against) Bristol City and we will win that."

  6. Black Cats move closer to play-offspublished at 14:08 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February

    FT: Middlesbrough 1-1 Sunderland

It's a result that neither side will want, but the visiting fans will go home the happier, even though their 18-year wait for a win on Teeside goes on.

    Late equalisers have that effect.

The draw lifts Sunderland above Norwich on goal difference into eighth place and moves them within a single point of the play-off berths.

Back-to-back draws mean Middlesbrough stay in 12th place, but still just four points outside the top six. They also have a game in hand on the sides above them.

  7. 'Black Cats midfield should have done more'published at 14:03 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February

    FT: Middlesbrough 1-1 Sunderland

    Gary Bennett
Ex-Sunderland defender on BBC Radio Newcastle

At times, I think Sunderland's midfield were just strolling through the game.

They need a little bit more from Pierre Ekwah. Jobe Bellingham was the same.

Sunderland's Nazariy Rusyn has shown confidence to take a shot from there.

I think the Boro goalkeeper should have got to it.

  8. 'A fair result'published at 14:01 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February

    FT: Middlesbrough 1-1 Sunderland

    Neil Maddison
Former Middlesbrough midfielder on BBC Tees

It was an even game in the first half, but it was entertaining.

In the second half, Middlesbrough marshalled the game. Their goal saw a beautiful first touch from Marcus Forss.

Sunderland boss Michael Beale brought subs on and they had the desired effect.

The goal is a sickener, Boro keeper Tom Glover will think he should save it. It is a weak hand.

But, 1-1 is a fair result in the end, I would say.

  9. FULL-TIMEpublished at 13:56 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February

    Middlesbrough 1-1 Sunderland

Honours even in the Tees-Wear derby-not-derby.

Boro had much the better of the opening half-hour after the break and Marcus Forss put them into a lead with a superb volley.

But Sunderland equalised, almost out of nothing, with seven minutes of normal time left through a Nazariy Rusyn shot which Boro keeper Tom Glover will have nightmares about.

  10. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 90+6 mins

    Middlesbrough 1-1 Sunderland

Dan Ballard goes down clutching his shoulder after an aerial dual and needs treatment. He looks in pain.

He's off the pitch and Jenson Seelt is on for he last few seconds

  11. Postpublished at 90+4 mins

    Middlesbrough 1-1 Sunderland

Boro having more of the ball in the latter stages.

Luke Ayling hangs up a cross, but Dan Ballard does enough to put off Hayden Hackney who heads over the bar.

  12. 'Some fans heading for the exit'published at 13:53 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February

    Middlesbrough 1-1 Sunderland

    Mark Drury
    BBC Tees commentator

Boro have just got to spend some time in Sunderland's half.

We have a steady stream of fans heading towards the exit now.

It would appear that plenty of Boro supporters feel that this game is up.

You can be sure that everyone on the pitch will give it their all.

  13. Sunderland rewarded for taking riskspublished at 13:50 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February

    Middlesbrough 1-1 Sunderland

    Neil Maddison
Former Middlesbrough midfielder on BBC Tees

Middlesbrough were better for the first 30 minutes of the second half.

They deserved to go in front. Then, all of a sudden, they made the substitutions and it has changed the game.

Sunderland had to take risks and they did.

  14. YELLOW CARDpublished at 90+1 mins

    Middlesbrough 1-1 Sunderland

Sunderland's Pierre Ekwah takes a card for the team as Boro break.

O'Brien then tries an audacious effort for the hosts and watches it sail over the bar.

  15. Postpublished at 90 mins

    Middlesbrough 1-1 Sunderland

The ball breaks to Nazariy Rusyn in the six-yard box and he threads the ball across the six-yard box.

But no takers and it's guided out just past the post by a Middlesbrough boot.

We're into six minutes of stoppage-time.

  16. 'Limbs'published at 13:47 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February

    Middlesbrough 1-1 Sunderland

    Matt Newsum
    BBC Sport at the Riverside

What a sight to see those Sunderland fans in one big mass of celebration - or 'limbs' as it's become commonly known as.

People hugging, mobbing and bobbing, almost surfing the wave of joy as 2,000 Mackems danced with delight.

It's turned the mood too, plenty of Wearside accents ringing high in the Teesside air.

  17. 'Sunderland could snatch victory'published at 13:47 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February

    Middlesbrough 1-1 Sunderland

    Nick Barnes
    BBC Newcastle's Sunderland commentator

Sunderland could go on to get a winner, but they wouldn't deserve it.

They have got to be thankful that they are in a position where they could get a point from this game.

They are throwing everything at Middlesbrough though, so they could snatch it.

  18. Postpublished at 88 mins

    Middlesbrough 1-1 Sunderland

Jack Clarke again skips away down the left and bears down on the bylien before cutting the ball back into the six-yard box.

Boro manage to clear, but it's all Sunderland now. They have real confidence here.

    How the momentum has changed.

  19. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 85 mins

    Middlesbrough 1-1 Sunderland

Michael Carrick reacted to that equaliser by sending Luke Thomas on for Lukas Engel.

    He's had a good match.

  20. 'Black Cats have been second best'published at 13:44 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February

    Middlesbrough 1-1 Sunderland

    Nick Barnes
    BBC Newcastle's Sunderland commentator

Sunderland have been second best for most of this second half.

That was maybe their second chance of it.

It is Nazariy Rusyn's second goal of the season.

The changes that Middlesbrough have made have probably helped Sunderland.
