    José Luís Morales (54 mins)

    Villarreal back in it.

It is a neat move as Villarreal go from their own half to inside the Real Madrid penalty area in the space of two passes, with Ramon Terrats feeding Jose Luís Morales who takes a touch before finishing past Andriy Lunin.

Another injury, this time for Nacho, who goes down holding the back of his calf.

I think he will be OK though. It looks like Alexander Sorloth caught him with the back of his studs.

Nacho is indeed fine to continue.

Villarreal have a record of W0, D0, L5 when trailing at half-time in La Liga this season.

It feels like this match is only going to end one way.

Any chance fans in England could admit there are 5 outstanding leagues in Europe and each has their positives and negatives without one superseding the others…

    Elle

Worrying the number of people dismissing the European leagues. A lot of great clubs in Europe. How many European cups have Arsenal, Tottenham etc won? Zero!

To those fans once again turning English football success into a negative narrative, I dare you to just enjoy Harry and Jude. I dare you.

Ronaldo & Messi in La Liga, Lewandowski when in the Bundesliga were never caveated with 'well it’s not the Prem'. Kane was world class in the Prem and is so in the Bundesliga. Bellingham shown his ability at international level. Agreed goals should not be the only metric to analyse by. But class is still class.

    Rob, Man City fan

La Liga is definitely better than Premier League

    Real Madrid 2-0 Villarreal

Real Madrid fans are screaming for a penalty as Jude Bellingham collides with a defender in the box, but the referee waves away the appeals.

Think that is the right decision. The defender could do little to get out of the way and Bellingham just ran into him.

Now then. Rodrygo puts the ball in the net after Villarreal fail to clear a corner but it is immediately ruled out for offside.

Messi and Ronaldo have made any other obscenely talented footballers look like pretenders. Haaland would need to have a season like last season 15 times to get close and Kane and Bellingham are having purple patches. I wish them the best but we have been spoiled.

    Jordan

Re 2014. Kane was top scorer and top assist provider in the premier league and was still overlooked for Ballon D'or and player of the year. He has a more than fair shout for one of the best ever.

    Paul, North London

The best player in the world is Kevin De Bruyne. Look at City stuttering without him.

Warm applause for David Alaba as he is helped from the field by two members of the Real Madrid medical team. Let's hope it isn't too serious.

Another injury concern this time for Real Madrid as David Alaba goes down holding his left knee.

Alaba is shaking is head as he lies on the floor. This does not look good.

Real are preparing to make a change.

Looking at the replay of Jude Bellingham's goal and it is such a superb header. Luka Modric's cross had no power in it so Bellingham had to generate it all himself in order to beat the goalkeeper.

    That kid has some talent.
