    BIG goal!

The Owls' recovery has stumbled a little of late so they could ill-afford another loss tonight.

Marvin Johnson finishes with the composure of a striker after the Owls totally overwhelm the home side on the counter.

That's the wing-back's second goal of the season.

    Ipswich 0-0 QPR

The earlier win for Southampton over Plymouth has the pressure on Ipswich in second spot.

The gap between Saints in third place and Ipswich is just two points as it stands.

The Tractor Boys entertain lowly QPR tonight, but it remains goalless. The hosts have made six changes. Marcus Harness thought he dropped out of the starting XI but was called back up to replace Nathan Broadhead, who was replaced just before kick-off.

This game is really ebbing and flowing.

This time it's the home side who fashion a decent chance.

Josh Koroma is played in on goal down their inside left but Tom Glover is equal to his low shot in the Boro goal.

And it's been coming after a bright start by the Foxes.

Leicester press high, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is among them crowding a defender. He comes away with the ball, runs into the area, then dances beyond a challenge or two before firing home his eight league goal of the season.

    How have Boro not scored?!

Isaiah Jones gets in behind the Terriers defence and clips it over the onrushing Town keeper Jacob Chapman.

It just needs nudging over the line but Jones airkicks at it and a home defender sprints back to hoof it off the line.

West Brom v Leeds (20:15 GMT)

Leeds goalkeeper Illan Meslier is sent off against PrestonImage source, PA Media

West Brom's bid to try and haul themselves into the race for the top two has been hampered by a run of just two wins in their past six.

However, they beat Norwich at home last time out and former Leeds coach Carlos Corberan will hope to get one over his old employers tonight.

Leeds' own top two ambitions were hampered by Boxing Day's costly 2-1 reverse at Preston.

The Whites never really got going in Lancashire and lost goalkeeper Illan Meslier for three matches for his red card in the game.

Along with Meslier's enforced entry Leeds make four other changes from the 2-1 defeat at Deepdale.

This game sees the team with the second-best defence in the division host the team with the third-best. So maybe don't hope for a goalfest in this final game of the calendar year in the EFL.

    FT: Southampton 2-1 Plymouth

    Frank Nouble
Former Plymouth striker on BBC Radio Devon

An all-round positive performance, particularly the second half.

The first half was about being strong, unfortunately the second goal was a killer.

A fit Ryan Hardie scores goals in this division, on another day this could have been a 3-3 thriller.

Sometimes you just need a bit of luck and replays show that goal is onside.

Argyle go 1-0 up and it is a different game, there is a lot to be frustrated about there.
