  1. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 72 mins

    Wales 3-1 Finland

Finland need a big, big effort now, so unsurprisingly, they are sending on their superhero, Oliver Antman.

Kaan Kairinen, (presumably the wasp, I haven't seen the film), is also on, with Robin Lod and Rasmus Schuller off.

Brennan Johnson is also replaced by Dan James for Wales.

I led with Antman, of course.

Daniel Hakans looks to win a freekick 'in prime Gareth Bale territory' but he is instead booked for diving.

Desperation is creeping in for Finland.

    Wales 3-1 Finland

There is a sizeable contingent of Finnish fans in the Cardiff City Stadium and they are doing their best to rouse their side.

A couple of corners amount to nothing for the visitors, it looks a tough task for them now.

Kieffer Moore is a different threat for Wales, we can now put balls in the box and hang it up for him to win.

It gives this Finnish defence something different to worry about.

  6. CLOSE!published at 61 mins

    Wales 3-1 Finland

Harry Wilson cuts inside and curls just wide.

That could and probably should have been 4-1 and game over.

You'd have backed the Fulham man to find the target.

He's also been booked for a late challenge.

  7. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 59 mins

    Wales 3-1 Finland

    A first Wales change.

'Big' Kieffer Moore replaces David Brooks.

Goal, assist, but no appearance point for Brooks.

But seriously, FPL bants aside, what a satisfying night for Brooks.

    A job well done.

Finland are starting to break the Welsh midfield line, it's a slightly worrying trend.

You can see Finland are building now.

Wales have shown clearly tonight why Tuesday will be so close to call if it is Wales v Poland.

Robert Page's side have the ability to score against anyone, but defensively they worry you.

Brennan Johnson won't believe his luck, his eyes must have lit up when he saw the ball coming towards him.

Finland worked hard to get back into the game before half-time and now they have got to do it all again.

Wow, wow, wow. Fantastic start again from Wales, Rob Page will be chuffed with that.

Brennan Johnson in the right place to turn it home.

Just when Finland would have felt they were back in this game, Wales have taken their foothold away from them.

Brennan Johnson has a great ability to find space in decisive moments.

He is looking more and more like a £50m player.

    Simon's commentary notes

A big match needs the right preparation!

Ultimately the only stat we want to be broadcasting next week is a fourth major tournament out of five for Wales!

Luckily, I have the expertise of the superb Nia Jones to rely on this evening, although keeping her nerves in check is a task in itself!

Join us for Match of the Day Wales on BBC One Wales after the game tonight at 22:40 GMT for highlights.

Another former Wales international Danny Gabbidon will be with Catrin Heledd pitch side at the Cardiff City Stadium tonight. We can’t wait, we hope you can join us.

In the second half I'd like to see Wales be a little bit more aggressive defensively.

Right now we're dropping off and giving Finland the space and like we're seeing they're creating chances.

It looks like Greece will be playing Georgia for a place at Euro 2024 in Tbilisi on Tuesday.

Georgia beat Luxembourg 2-0 earlier on and Greece lead Kazakhstan 4-0 at half-time with four different goalscorers.

In the other section of the play-offs, Iceland have come from 1-0 down to lead Israel 2-1 in Hungary while Bosnia-Herzegovina and Ukraine are level at 0-0.

I don't think Chris Mepham needs to come over and commit there, not the ending to the half that Wales would have wanted.

No one said it was going to be easy, it never is with Wales.
