None of Rangers last seven managers have won their first derby (D3 L4) since Ally McCoist in September 2011.

The last Rangers manager to win his first away game with the club at Celtic was Walter Smith in August 1991 (2-0).

Rangers manager Philippe Clement tells BBC Scotland: "I'm an old man so I've been in a lot of games with big importance with a lot of people against me and my team.

"I don't expect anything I haven't seen before. The most important thing is the game is on the field. We're totally focussed on our game and our football.

"I know they don't like us here but I get more energy from that. The most important thing is my team is focussed on football. They're focussed on what they have to do together with and without the ball.

"The biggest symbol [of progress] was when we left Ibrox an hour ago and the fans there were enthusiastic and full of fire to support the team.

"Two months ago the synergy was gone. We've worked hard - players, staff, fans - to get that synergy back.

"[The league] will not be decided on one or two games. The team is working hard and giving everything for the club and that's what fans want to see.

"If we continue like that, trophies will follow."

Brendan Rodgers has won 11 and lost just one of his 14 Old Firm derbies.

His win rate of 79% is the best of any manager in this fixture's history.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers tells BBC Scotland: "The pitch and the inside of the stadium is okay. There was a real downfall for a couple of hours but thankfully it's stopped.

"They're clearly exciting games. You're representing the support as well as the team. I've always enjoyed them. It's the most iconic rivalry in the world.

"I know when I left here, I was envious looking in at the atmosphere. I'm excited to be back.

"You're always going to come across really good managers. Different cultures, different ways of the game. It's another challenge and one I'll embrace.

"We have a chance to perform well and continue with our sequence over the last couple of games.

"No doubt, Philippe [Clement] has steadied the ship for them. We'll play to our game. If we play to the tempo and rhythm we want, we will put on a really good performance."

• In all competitions, Rangers have won just two of their last 17 away derbies (D4 L11).
• This will be the 10th time Celtic have faced Rangers in their final league match of a calendar year (W3 D3 L3 in the first nine). They have lost the last two such occasions: 1-2 in 2019 and 0-1 in 2018.
• Since Philippe Clement's first league game, Rangers have won more points (28) and conceded fewer goals (three) than any other side in the Premiership, winning nine of their 10 games.
