Ouch!published at 18:11 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January

A bit of an awkward challenge rather than a dangerous one.

  4. Postpublished at 18:10 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January

    St Mirren 0-2 Celtic

Get the feeling this is very much going to be a half of attack versus defence.

  7. Celtic 'enjoying' themselvespublished at 18:07 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January

    St Mirren 0-2 Celtic

    Pat Bonner
Former Celtic goalkeeper on BBC Sportsound

When Celtic do lose the ball, they win it back really quickly. The players, fans and Brendan Rodgers are probably all enjoying this.

Once you get an early goal, it sets the scene for the game. When you back it up with another quickly afterwards, you settle in so easily.

They are playing with great confidence after the weekend - they know the derby was a difficult game, they got through it, and that has led into a confidence they are showing today.

St Mirren will have to stop them changing the ball from side to side.

  8. KICK-OFFpublished at 18:06 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January

    St Mirren 0-2 Celtic

    We go again.

  9. Bernardo becoming 'real asset' for Celticpublished at 18:04 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January

    HT: St Mirren 0-2 Celtic

    Pat Bonner
Former Celtic goalkeeper on BBC Sportsound

Paulo Bernardo is starting to believe he can be a lot more than brave on the ball and knock it about.

A lot of teams sit back and make it difficult for Celtic and you've got to mix your game up. He is starting to do that now and that's a real asset to Celtic.

You can also see the quality Celtic have on the bench now - there are no average players among the substitutes.

Brendan Rodgers doesn't have to go to the market in January and make the wholesale changes he might have expected a few weeks ago.

  10. 'Palma & Maeda having a field day'published at 18:03 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January

    HT: St Mirren 0-2 Celtic

    Danny Lennon
Former St Mirren manager on BBC Sportsound

Celtic had a lot of time and space to play, the distance the midfield players had to travel was causing St Mirren's full-backs a great deal of problems.

In the first 15 minutes, Luis Palma and Daizen Maeda were having a field day.

  11. Hearts 'will only do business we think is right' - Naismithpublished at 18:00 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January

    FT: Livingston 1-2 Hearts

Hearts manager Steven Naismith tells BBC Scotland: "We knew it was going to be hard-fought, with the surface and the squad we played against - calm, up for the fight. They got the better of us in the first half.

"I've consistently said you're not going to get a good game on an artificial pitch. It was all about second balls, turning it, timing your runs. We were deep in the first half and had to defend. We got to half time in the fight, but being second best.

"At half time, we changed the timing of our runs down the side of the pitch and we score a good goal from that. Overall, it was a deserved win.

"We're not expecting anyone to leave. There might be a couple who aren't happy with their minutes, but we expect the main squad to be the way it has been. We're well set financially and we'll only do business that we think is right."

  12. 'Outstanding performance' - Robsonpublished at 17:58 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January

    FT: Ross County 0-3 Aberdeen

Aberdeen manager Barry Robson tells BBC Scotland: "The performance was outstanding from start to finish You could see the speed we played with, the pressing, counter-pressing, and Ross County found us hard to deal with.

"This season, we've learned a lot about being on the road, being in Europe, and the biggest thing we've struggled with is to find consistency.

"We're hoping once we get on the training pitch a bit more the performances can come regularly.

"[Bojan Miovski] was outstanding again. If there's [a player] out there that improves the team, then we are looking. Bojan is scoring goals, he's under contract here, and I'm confident that he will stay here."

  13. McInnes targets striker in Januarypublished at 17:56 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January

    FT: Rangers 3-1 Kilmarnock

Kilmarnock manager Derek McInnes tells BBC Scotland: "For 40 minutes, a lot of what we asked for was there. We had good moments. A lot of these little things, we were pleased with.

"It felt so harsh for us [going behind]. We were still a wee bit in shock. The second goal came from nowhere. From a defensive point of view, it's difficult to be too critical of that.

"We knew we would get chances. We just wanted to win the second half. We get ourselves a goal back. What we needed to do then was just be a wee bit more street-wise. The third goal is the goal where we've really not defended it well.

"We kept going and credit to them. I've been really pleased with the first half of the campaign.

"You can do good work in January. There's two or three things been identified. I actually don't think I've ever been in a transfer window where I've not been looking for a striker.

"We'll try and bring a striker in or a forward player in that can maybe compliment what we've got. It's free agents and the loan market that we'll look to try and exploit. I just don't want anybody to leave."

  14. Rangers 'to do more business' - Clementpublished at 17:54 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January

    FT: Rangers 3-1 Kilmarnock

Rangers manager Philippe Clement tells BBC Scotland: "It was a really good performance most of the game.

"It was an exceptional goal [by Abdallah Sima for 2-0]. The finish was really world class. I give [Ross McCausland] a lot of minutes because he deserves it, because he performs, because he works for the team. He's growing and growing.

"It's a pity to speak about [the penalty]. I don't think John Souttar can do much more with his arm or much less with his arm than he did in that action. I hope there comes clarity for the second part of the season for everybody. It's important that there's clarity about what is handball and what is not handball.

"We're going to do some more business. Everybody in the club is aligned around that and we have now one month to do the good business."

    St Mirren 0-2 Celtic

    Pat Bonner
Former Celtic goalkeeper on BBC Sportsound

Olusanya's foot was very, very high, the leg was extended.

Joe Hart had to go down a little bit to get the ball.

  17. HALF-TIMEpublished at 17:50 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January

    St Mirren 0-2 Celtic

St Mirren are two goals down and a man down.

They'll have to climb football's equivalent of Everest to get something out of this.

  18. RED CARD - Olusanya (St Mirren)published at 17:47 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January

    St Mirren 0-2 Celtic

    And he's off.

Toyosi Olusanya is devastated but you can't say he isn't endangering Joe Hart.

It's a full boot to the face.

  19. Postpublished at 17:47 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January

    We know what this means...

Yellow card. VAR will have a look though...
