Dundee United boss Jim Goodwin tells BBC Scotland: "Inverness are very organised under Duncan Ferguson so I think we have to be patient but we have to try and keep some tempo and some intensity in the game.

"We have got good pace at the top end, we need to try and exploit the backline as much as we can.

"It has been a long trip but hopefully it will all be worth it."

  2. 'Carragher comes highly recommended' - Fergusonpublished at 19:44 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January

Inverness CT v Dundee United (19:45)

Inverness manager Duncan Ferguson insists new signing James Carragher is deserving of his spot in the starting line-up.

"He will bring defensive solidity," Ferguson tells BBC Scotland.

"I did my homework on him and he comes highly recommended. It was easy to get him up, I know his dad so it was not a problem!"

On tonight's test against his former club, the manager added: "I am looking forward to the game.

"I was a wee boy when I was at United but they are a great club with a great manager."

  3. What would it mean...?published at 19:41 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January

Inverness CT v Dundee United (19:45)

A win for Dundee United would move them into top spot before Raith Rovers take on Queen's Park tomorrow afternoon. Although the two sides would be level on points if United win, their superior goal difference would put them above their title challengers.

A win for Inverness would put them into sixth, moving them above Dunfermline and one point off Greenock Morton before the rest of the games this weekend.

Inverness don't have the best luck against tonight's opponents. The last time they picked up a win over Dundee United was a 2-1 victory in a Scottish Cup tie back in 2019.

Their last league victory over the Arabs was the previous year - a 1-0 win in March 2018.

Since then there have been 13 league meetings between the sides and United have come out on top in nine of those.
