    My goodness!

Was just about to say Aberdeen were still on their holidays. That thud from the woodwork will certainly have woke them up from their sun-loungers...

  2. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 22 mins

    Clyde 0-0 Aberdeen

Oooooooooft. Clyde go very, very close.

Their first foray up the park sees Connor Young wrap his foot around the ball from the edge of the box, only to see it bounce agonisingly off the upright.

What a moment that would have been. So unlucky.

    Clyde 0-0 Aberdeen

That was all a bit last-ditch from Clyde.

Nice inter-play on the left sees Jack MacKenzie whip a ball in. The header away falls to Connor Barron, whose shot goes into the path of Nicky Devlin.

The defender forces a save from Jack Leighfield, but it wrongly flagged offside. Better from Aberdeen.

    Clyde 0-0 Aberdeen

Deary me, Aberdeen's first corner doesn't produce much better.

Leighton Clarkson goes for the audacious first-time volley. It nearly cracked the window of the Sainsbury's behind New Douglas Park.

    Aaaaaaand it comes to nothing.

Leighton Clarkson's arrowed ball is headed away, and Clyde eventually boot it up the park after some hesitation.

Another Raymond Grant foul gives Aberdeen their first opportunity to swing one in at a set piece...

That's three occasions in quick succession where Aberdeen have been in a good position down the right-hand side, but the delivery has been poor.

    Clyde 0-0 Aberdeen

Dante Polvara's cross in is straight into the grasp of Jack Leighfield.

Nothing even close to incisive so far.

  10. Postpublished at 9 mins

    Clyde 0-0 Aberdeen

Jamie McGrath looks in a bit of pain after Raymond Grant kind of just falls on him.

One way to stop your opposition that.

  11. Postpublished at 8 mins

    Clyde 0-0 Aberdeen

Pretty ponderous this. Considering Aberdeen were behind after 19 minutes in Darvel, maybe they'd be quite happy with a slow start.

    Clyde 0-0 Aberdeen

Jamie McGrath wriggling around is causing Clyde a few problems.

The Irishman is popping the ball around and floating into space, but his deep ball to the back-post is eventually snuffed out by the home backline.

    Clyde 0-0 Aberdeen

Aberdeen have plenty of width in these opening stages. Really looking to stretch their lower league opposition.

Tell ye what, that is a cracking travelling support for the Dons.

A baltic Friday night game that's on the telly, too. Magnificent backing.

It's a right biter one tonight. Guess you can tell that given by Willie Miller's hat... the man is wise, wish I had one.

Aberdeen will be hoping they won't be caught cold again, though. The message from all Dons here is they're done with Darvel and ready to write a new story in the Scottish Cup.

Success in the auld competition would go down well in the north east, it's been all too long for their liking.

One game at a time though, eh? We all know football can be a funny old thing...

  18. 'We attack every game the same'published at 19:42 Greenwich Mean Time 19 January

    Clyde v Aberdeen (19:45)

Aberdeen manager Barry Robson tells BBC Scotland: "We attack every game the same, and try to win the game. That will never change.

"Clyde will be a good side. Ian McCall is a really experienced manager, so it'll be tough for us.

"We're looking to win in every competition we're in. We need to work hard and bring a real performance."

  19. 'Any game of football you can win' - McCallpublished at 19:40 Greenwich Mean Time 19 January

    Clyde v Aberdeen (19:45)

Clyde manager Ian McCall tells BBC Scotland: "I'd imagine the players are excited, I hope they are.

"It's a great chance of them to go and play on TV. Any game of football you can win."

"We need to defend really well. Their last game was a really good result and they changed shape. Our levels of concentration need to be really, really high.

"Ultimately, if 11 Aberdeen players play really well, it's a tough challenge we face."

The Dons shocked Bundesliga heavyweight Eintracht Frankfurt

It feels as though Aberdeen have lived a thousand lives since the season started in July.

They've had a frustrating European campaign, a League Cup final and patchy Premiership to send Dons fans on a rollercoaster that would have had them glad of the winter break.

Barry Robson has said the hiatus has given him valuable time on the training pitch, something he found hard to come by with Aberdeen's packed fixture schedule this term.

Will we see it bear fruit tonight?
