Callum Hendry and Matt Smith both scored twice as Salford City continued their unbeaten record under Karl Robinson, winning 5-3 at home to Barrow.

City are now 16 points clear of the bottom two, while it was also a good day for Doncaster Rovers who eased to a 5-1 victory away to Grimsby.

The Mariners' defeat, which leaves them in 22nd spot, is just about the only glimmer of hope for the bottom two, who were both beaten again.

Forest Green Rovers, who were beaten 2-0 at Crawley, are six points adrift of Grimsby and have played a game more, while bottom side Sutton went down to a single goal at Bradford.

Former Tranmere player Dave Challinor endured a nightmare return to Prenton Park as Stockport boss - his side were thrashed 4-0, with Rovers defender Jordan Turnbull scoring a second-half double.

Despite their heaviest defeat of the season, County maintained first place in the table because Mansfield were also beaten, going down to a 2-1 defeat at Walsall.

Wrexham, however, moved back up to third after seeing off Notts County by a single goal at the Racecourse Ground, while Crewe were held 0-0 by Harrogate.

MK Dons climbed to fifth after a 2-1 win at Swindon, while Harrogate's point was enough to take them back into the final play-off position at the expense of Notts County.

Carlisle are now 13 points from safety - and six adrift at the bottom - after another depressing afternoon - a 4-0 home defeat by Cambridge, who move six points clear of the four relegation places.

Second-bottom Fleetwood are seven points from safety after their home defeat by promotion-chasing Barnsley.

But Cheltenham climbed above Port Vale into 21st - and within a point of 20th-placed Charlton - after beating the Valiants in Darren Moore’s first game in charge.

Shrewsbury and Reading are still looking over their shoulders after losses to Wigan and Portsmouth, respectively.

Derby kept pace with leaders Portsmouth, but only just, thanks to Louie Sibley’s 90th-minute winner.

But Bolton drop a couple of points on the top two after their surprise home draw with Charlton.

The Trotters slip three points outside the automatic promotion places and nine adrift of Pompey, but Ian Evatt’s side do have games in hand.

Barnsley closed in on Bolton with victory at Fleetwood and put a little daylight between themselves and both Oxford, who were held at Wycombe, and Peterborough - beaten at home by Blackpool.

The Tangerines closed to within six points of the play-off spots.

    Bolton 3-3 Charlton

They're still waiting for their first win since November but it's a great point for Charlton.

The Addicks led twice after Thierry Small cancelled out Victor Adeboyejo's opener through Lloyd Jones and Daniel Kanu.

But Paris Maghoma and Jon Dadi Bodvarsson earn the hosts a draw. Two points dropped for Bolton.

  9. 'It's almost like Wrexham have achieved promotion again'published at 17:02 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February

    FT: Wrexham 1-0 Notts County

    Mark Stallard
Former Notts County striker on BBC Radio Nottingham

Plenty of positive from the performance but nothing in terms of the points for Notts. They didn't take their chances when they came. Wrexham will argue they should have a second or third. You can tell exactly what it means to Wrexham. The home fans - it's almost like they've achieved promotion again.

Another difficult game for Notts County. They are up against a tough team, a really good record. They gave just as good as they got, you could argue that a draw would have been a fair result. It was a fantastic game - how there could only be one goal in the game, we will never know.

    Bolton 3-3 Charlton

There might be even more than the nine minutes added on as Charlton keeper Harry Isted receives treatment.

    Two to go.

    Bolton 3-3 Charlton

    Chance for the Addicks!

Chuks Aneke hits a drilled effort but it's turned behind by Joel Coleman for a corner.

  12. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:59 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February

    Wrexham 1-0 Notts County

Lively stuff at the Racecourse Ground - and Notts County will be wondering just how they've depart empty-handed.

Chances aplenty for both sides, but the only one that was taken was Steven Fletcher's first-half finish - and that sends Wrexham back into third place.

  13. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:58 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February

    Walsall 2-1 Mansfield

Nine goals in midweek - but Mansfield have missed their chance to go top of League Two after defeat at the Bescot Stadium.

Emmanuel Adegboyega heads the Saddlers' winner, but goalkeeper Jackson Smith deserves more than an honourable mention for a string of excellent saves to deny the visitors.

  14. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:56 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February

    Portsmouth 4-1 Reading

Portsmouth turn on the style to stay six points clear at the top.

A fourth straight win and sixth win in seven for Pompey.

Second half goals from Marlon Pack, Callum Lang and Colby Bishop added to Paddy Lane's opener give Pompey a handsome win before Charlie Savage's consolation

  15. GREAT SAVE!published at 16:54 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February

    Walsall 2-1 Mansfield

If Walsall hang on here, someone needs to buy goalkeeper Jackson Smith a pint or few!

Smith pulls off another superb stop to foil Lucas Akins in added time, with Mansfield throwing everything they have at an equaliser.

  16. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:54 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February

    Derby 1-0 Stevenage

Derby keep pace with leaders Portsmouth and remain six points behind with a game in hand.

They made real hard work of it but Louie Sibley's late winner is enough.

  17. Postpublished at 16:54 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February

    Bolton 3-3 Charlton

NINE minutes to be added on.

You wouldn't bet against a winner here.

  18. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:52 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February

    Tranmere 4-0 Stockport

    What a result for Tranmere!

Defender Jordan Turnbull scores two, with Tom Davies and Connor Jennings also on the scoresheet.

It's a miserable return to Prenton Park for Stockport manager Dave Challinor as his side suffer their heaviest defeat of the season.

  19. goal

GOAL: Portsmouth 4-1 Readingpublished at 16:51 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February

    Charlie Savage (89 mins)

    Some justice is done.

It's taken until their eighth attempt on target, but Reading have a goal.

Ben Elliott's corner is only partially cleared and Charlie Savage tucks the ball into the net. Consolation stuff.

  20. Postpublished at 16:51 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February

    Walsall 2-1 Mansfield

Walsall have done well in this second half, but they're in defensive mode right now as Mansfield pour forward in search of an equaliser.

Lewis Brunt's close-range effort is cleared as the Saddlers dig in to try and see this out and claim what would be a first win in six games.
