Porto worked tremendously hard tonight and did well to hold this Arsenal side at bay. They have done their homework and this is exactly what they wanted. They wanted to get to penalties.

    You can feel the tension.

Even players you expect to be calm on the ball and be composed were just misplacing passes and touches here and there.

Oleksandr Zinchenko, who was brought on to control things, has put a few wayward passes in.

Seriously uninspiring set-pieces. Corners have underwhelmed, not good under standards.

    Tom, London

I have a feeling that Porto will go through. Penalties I guess.

    Kelechi, Nigeria

Considering the huge outlay at arsenal in recent seasons, they are still a very average looking side, found out in Europe's top competition.

Kai Havertz's touch is heavy and Pepe can clear. Oleksandr Zinchenko then gifts it to the other Porto Pepe.

Arsenal need to learn to win in important games. Being able to stuff Sheffield United 6-0 is all well and good but they are becoming perennial bottlers when it comes to the big trophies.

Jorge Sanchez does well under pressure from Gabriel Jesus and Porto switch it.

But it's end-to-end at the moment. Fouls are still being exchanged and each decision is getting a reaction from the fans.

    Matthew Upson
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Arsenal have to be careful. Porto have already looked dangerous on a few counter ttacks.

It is just a feeling isn't it? Arsenal haven't quite been able to get the right result historically from these types of games. Hopefully it isn't the same outcome but it is a worrying habit.

  15. CLOSE!published at 22:26 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March

Huge chance! Otavio makes a potentially goal-saving block!

Eddie Nketiah is involved as it's flicked to Bukayo Saka in the box. He takes too long on it and Otavio is able to come across to block the shot from close-range.

Paul: This game has gone so flat. Porto will probably be happy with penalties but we need to test their goalie more than we have.

Arsenal are a good team no doubt, but Liverpool or Man City would absolutely have put this Porto side away in the first leg.

Love to see Nketiah get a chance on the big stage, always such an impact off the bench
