    Not great this, I'm afraid.

Yuta Nakayama, who has had a really tough time with injury this past 12 months, can not carry on.

He briefly returned to the field after getting some treatment but within seconds he's sat back down on the turf and shook his head.

Town defender Michal Helik, who is their top-scorer, is on in his stead.

  2. GREAT SAVE!published at 12:54 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March 2024

    Bristol City 0-0 Cardiff City

    Great stop from Ethan Horvath!

The Cardiff goalkeeper shows excellent reactions to prevent Mark Sykes giving the Robins the lead when the ball dropped nicely to the midfielder from a corner.

Soon after, Taylor Gardner-Hickman shoots over the top as the hosts look to crank up the pressure.

  3. 'Making Leeds work'published at 12:52 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March 2024

    Huddersfield 0-0 Leeds

    Adam Pope
Leeds United commentator, on BBC Radio Leeds

The great thing about Huddersfield so far is that they are creating, and have their chests puffed out.

    They're making Leeds work.

  4. YELLOW CARDpublished at 12:51 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March 2024

    Huddersfield 0-0 Leeds

First booking of the game goes to Town skipper Jonathan Hogg.

The midfielder, nicknamed 'the general', goes in late on Crysencio Summerville on the halfway line and is shown a yellow.

    Hard to argue.

Bit of a hold up now as Summerville gets some treatment alongside Town defender Yuta Nakayma, who got caught by Summerville as he fell.

  5. YELLOW CARDpublished at 12:51 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March 2024

    Bristol City 0-0 Cardiff City

The two protagonists in those earlier waved-away fouls are involved again as Cardiff's Kion Etete picks up the first booking of the game for bringing down Bristol City striker Nahki Wells who was looking to break.

  6. 'Contentious call from the ref'published at 12:48 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March 2024

    Bristol City 0-0 Cardiff

    Chris Honor
Former Bristol City defender, BBC Radio Bristol

It's a great little run from Nahki Wells.

He went down after the defender put his foot out...and the referee said no to a penalty.

    Very contentious call there.

  7. Postpublished at 12:48 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March 2024

    Bristol City 0-0 Cardiff City

Perry Ng has been involved plenty early on, sending a few testing balls into Bristol City territory.

Kion Etete thinks he should have a foul as he goes down under a challenge but the referee says no.

It's the same story shortly afterwards at the other end as Robins striker Nahki Wells goes down under pressure, but again referee Sam Allison shakes his head.

Just watching it back and that second save from Leeds goalkeeper Illan Meslier from Jack Rudoni was excellent.

The former AFC Wimbledon man got across Patrick Bamford at the near post and the Frenchman had barely any time at all to react and turn it around the post. Great work.

Town have been boosted by that and win a couple more corners in quick succession.

    Really good game this now.

  9. Postpublished at 12:43 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March 2024

    Huddersfield 0-0 Leeds

The Terriers show their teeth now.

It's good work by the home side to fashion an opening for Jack Rudoni from 25 yards out and Illan Meslier does well to deny him.

The Frenchman is alert again from the resultant corner to keep out a clever flick at the near post from the same man.

That gets the home faithful up off their seats.

  10. Postpublished at 12:41 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March 2024

    Bristol City 0-0 Cardiff City

Great noise but no goalmouth action to report from Ashton Gate.

Plenty of endeavour early on and it's been back and forth but both teams have snuffed the other's attacks out fairly comfortably so far.

  11. 'Tried to be too cute'published at 12:38 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March 2024

    Huddersfield 0-0 Leeds

    Matt Glennon
Former Huddersfield keeper on BBC Radio Leeds

    That should be 1-0!

Leeds have already had two or three opportunities but they've tried to walk it in the back of the net and be too cute.

    Great save from Nicholls.

  12. Postpublished at 12:35 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March 2024

    Huddersfield 0-0 Leeds

And now the away side do carve Town open!

The Whites move the ball so well and it opens up for Crysencio Summerville.

The Dutchman makes decent contact with his effort but Lee Nicholls in the Town goal denies him with his legs.

He'll wish he could have that back.

  14. Postpublished at 12:34 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March 2024

    Huddersfield 0-0 Leeds

Huddersfield will be looking to avoid a repeat of the game between these sides back in October.

Leeds raced into a 4-0 first-half lead in what was a torrid day for the Terriers.

Town pulled one back in the second half but the game was long since gone.

Not too much happening in the opening exchanges of this one, as the second-placed visitors look to dominate possession.

  15. KICK-OFFpublished at 12:31 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March 2024

Huddersfield 0-0 Leeds; Bristol City 0-0 Cardiff City

We're off and running in West Yorkshire, where it is raining, and in the West Country, where it is also raining.

Despite the conditions, I can't see either of these games being damp squibs.

The EFL action got under way for the weekend at The Hawthorns last night as West Brom hosted Coventry in a West Midlands derby.

Goals from Mikey Johnston and Grady Diangana were enough to give the home side, playing for the first time since Shilen Patel completed his takeover of the club, all three points to strengthen their grip on fifth place.

Coventry pulled one back through Haji Wright's penalty but successive league defeats have seen the FA Cup quarter-finalists drop back in their own hunt for a play-off berth.

Bristol City v Cardiff City (12:30 GMT)

Bristol City head coach Liam Manning freshens things up after last weekend's 2-1 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday, making four changes to his starting line-up.

Out go George Tanner, Cameron Pring, Tommy Conway and Anis Mehmeti, and in come Ross McCrorie, Haydon Roberts, Andy King and Nahki Wells.

Bristol City XI: O'Leary, McCrorie, Vyner, Dickie, Roberts, King, Williams, Gardner-Hickman, Knight, Sykes, Wells.

Subs: Bajic, Knight-Lebel, Pring, Mebude, Cornick, Mehmeti, Conway.

Cardiff's Erol Bulut makes one enforced change from last Saturday's 2-1 win against Stoke as the injured Karlan Grant makes way for David Turnbull.

Ollie Tanner and Callum O'Dowda return to the matchday squad.

Cardiff City XI: Horvath, Ng, Goutas, Phillips, Wilson-Esbrand, Ralls, Siopis, Turnbull, R Colwill, Bowler, Etete.

  18. Nothing to separate rivals on Severnside derby daypublished at 12:22 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March 2024

Bristol City v Cardiff City (12:30 GMT)

The stage is set for a rip-roaring Severnside derby as rivals across the bridge, Bristol City and Cardiff City, go head-to-head in the West Country.

There is nothing to separate the two in terms of points in the Championship table, both having 44 after 34 games, with the 12th-placed Robins a couple of spots above the Bluebirds courtesy of a better goal difference.

It's also a tough contest to call on form, with Liam Manning's side taking a slight dip after three defeats in their past five league games, and Erol Bulut's men winning their first Championship game in five against Stoke last weekend.

If either team is going to mount a late charge for the play-offs they need to put a winning run together - but of course, as with all derby games, there is much more than just points on the line here.

Huddersfield make two changes from the XI who started the 2-1 win at Watford last week. Forward Danny Ward came off the bench to get both of Town's goals in that game so is unsurprisingly brought back into the XI, as is in-form wide-man Sorba Thomas, who missed last week's victory over the Hornets for the birth of his first child.

Huddersfield XI: Nicholls, Pearson, Lees, Nakayama, Thomas, Kasamu, Hogg, Rudoni, Spencer, Ward, Burgzorg.

Subs: Maxwell, Helik, Radulovic, Koroma, Diarra, Headley, Edwards, Matos, Wiles.

Leeds make six changes from the team who started the 3-2 defeat at Chelsea in the FA Cup in midweek. It's just one alteration from the side that started the 3-1 win over Leicester in their last league game though, as Patrick Bamford comes in for Joel Piroe up top.

Leeds XI: Meslier, Gray, Rodon, Ampadu, Firpo, Gruev, Kamara, Summerville, Gnonto, Rutter, Bamford.

Subs: Darlow, Byram, Roberts, Cresswell, Cooper, Anthony, James, Piroe, Joseph.

Huddersfield 0-0 LeedsImage source, Rex Features

It's not often you get into March and there's a team with a 100% league record for the calendar year.

Leeds' form since the turn of the year has been irresistible, with nine wins from nine Championship games.

The second-placed Whites came back from a goal down to beat table-toppers Leicester at a raucous Elland Road last week and a 10th straight league victory today will see them break the club record for successive wins.

Standing in their way today are a Huddersfield side who made a bright start under their third manager of the season, Andre Breitenreiter, last week.

A 2-1 win at Watford moved the Terriers two points clear of the bottom three but, with 12 games to go, they still have a lot of work to do.
