    Norwich 0-0 Rotherham

Rotherham already hold two of the five worst Championship season points totals, and need four more than their current 19 to make sure they don't set a new record altogether.

Gabriel Sara and Marcelinho Nunez have already had sights of goal for the hosts in East Anglia. Ominous.

  2. Postpublished at 15:04 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    Hull 0-0 Leicester

This is Leicester's first visit to Humberside since August 2016.

It was the Foxes' first game as Premier League champions and Claudio Ranieri's team suffered a shock 2-1 loss to the promoted Tigers.

It was a sign of things to come that season.

    Final Score

Play-off pushing Hull’s home form is shocking but an attack with more sauce than a Tex Mex buffet could make life difficult for league leaders Leicester who are wobbling on and off the pitch.

A 12 point lead has become two and a potential breach of PSR financial rules too… Still, one Foxes fan said to me, ‘We’ll deal with that when we get promoted’ That’s confidence for you!

Today’s offering with Borja Sainz as cover star had already gone to print before he was red carded at Middlesbrough midweek.

A pulp and reprint was considered before the FA overturned the card, allowing Sainz to play today.

    Watford v Coventry (15:00 GMT)

It's been a bit of a tale (tail?) of two halves for Valerien Ismael's Hornets at Vicarage Road this season.

Just two defeats in the opening 10 at home, but that's been followed up with no win in the last eight - a run stretching back to November.

Watford are now looking over their shoulder in a tightly-packed Championship mid-table, just seven points clear of relegation.

The sky is the limit for Sky Blues right now, and Mark Robins' side could end the day in the top six with a win if results go their way.

The last five meetings between these two have yielded 16 goals, including a 3-3 thriller earlier on this season.

Goals galore then coming our way, hopefully!

  8. Saints take on out-of-form Sunderlandpublished at 14:53 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    Southampton v Sunderland (15:00 GMT)

    Russell MartinImage source, Rex Features

Southampton face Sunderland today having lost ground in the race to the Championship top two in midweek.

But it wasn't because of matters on the pitch - a fire outside their St Mary's Stadium home caused their midweek visit of Preston to be called off at short notice.

In the mean time, Ipswich, Leeds and Leicester all won and now Saints take on the Black Cats hoping to utilise their two games in hand to chase down the nine-point gap on Leeds who beat Sheffield Wednesday last night.

Sunderland make the lengthy trip to the south coast off the back of five-straight defeats, leaving them 10 points off the play-off places.

Will that stretch to six games come this evening?

  9. Marti takes on Michael in west Londonpublished at 14:51 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    QPR v Middlesbrough (15:00 GMT)

With every passing week there's more and more reason for R's fans to get themselves down to Loftus Road. Five defeats and no wins from their opening seven home games has been followed with just three in the last 11 under the guise of Marti Cifuentes.

They'll fancy their chances of improving that run today against mid-table Boro, who have conceded in each of their last 11 away trips.

Given the tight nature of the division, these two could finish the weekend just two places apart if Rangers are able to complete the double of their north east opponents and move further towards Championship safety.

Boro are in somewhat of a no man's land - a rare situation to be in in this division this season - 10 points from the play-offs, and nine from the drop zone.

Michael Carrick won all of his appearances at Loftus Road as a player 2-0 in the Red of Manchester United, a run he would love to keep going this afternoon.

Having stopped Norwich's six match unbeaten streak in the week, they now look to make QPR taste defeat for the first time in five.

  10. Will Preston or Stoke leap up the table?published at 14:49 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    Preston v Stoke (15:00 GMT)

Preston boss Ryan LoweImage source, Rex Features

Preston and Stoke face off today with conflicting fortunes at opposite ends of the table.

Preston's push for a place in the Championship top six is progressing nicely - with Ryan Lowe inspiring a seven-game unbeaten run.

That record has kept them in the play-off picture and in ninth place and four points off sixth.

Stoke, meanwhile, are deep in the mire and are third from bottom and have lost their past four away league games - the worst run on their travels for three years.

Can the Potters take a leap away from the bottom three or will Preston keep the pressure on their play-off rivals?

  11. Poles apart at Carrow Roadpublished at 14:47 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    Norwich v Rotherham (15:00 GMT)

Unfortunately for Rotherham this season, most pre-match stat checks have looked rather one-sided in favour of their opponents. And today is no different.

David Wagner's Canaries may have seen their six match unbeaten run ended by Middlesbrough in the week, but the home fans have seen their side win their last five at Carrow Road - a run which has vaulted them to the edge of the play-offs. In a form table of the last six games, only Ipswich have scored more goals.

Couple all that with the Millers' winless away record this season, and that makes for some grim reading. Furthermore, the last time Rotherham won at Norwich, England hadn't even won a World Cup...

But wait, there is hope. One of only three victories for Rotherham this campaign came in the reverse fixture.

19 points from safety they may be, but perhaps the prospect of an unlikely double will spur them on to an upset this afternoon.

Wagner will be hoping his side stay composed as their push for promotion continues.

  12. The battle at the bottom continuespublished at 14:45 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    Millwall v Birmingham (15:00 GMT)

Another huge game with implications at the bottom of the Championship table.

But they're all big at the minute given just how many teams are in the relegation mire.

Millwall and Birmingham have opposite fortunes coming into today's game at The Den.

The Lions have strung together a three-game unbeaten run since Neil Harris' return - Blues less so, having gone three games without a win.

Birmingham have won just once on their Championship travels in seven games while Millwall have lost a whopping nine home games in the league this term.

Will either side register a massive three points or are we heading for a draw in this one?

Championship leaders Leicester City had looked like they were coasting their way back to the Premier League at the first attempt.

That was until they lost three on the bounce, cutting their lead at the top and making the battle for automatic promotion much more interesting.

With Leeds' win against Sheffield Wednesday on Friday night hotting things up at the top, the Foxes travel to Hull knowing a win might ease their worries headed into the final stages of the season.

But the Tigers are no pushover and occupy sixth spot.

There is some cause for optimism amongst the Leicester camp, however, as Hull have won just two of their past eight league games.

One of those victories came in the reverse fixture, however.

  14. Blackburn and Plymouth look over their shoulderspublished at 14:41 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    Blackburn v Plymouth (15:00 GMT)

Blackburn boss John EustaceImage source, Rex Features

Not so long ago this would have been a match where a play-off chasing team hosted one battling at the bottom.

These days, with how tight things have got in the bottom half of the Championship, both sides are looking over their shoulder at the bottom three.

Blackburn face Plymouth with the two sides in 17th and 16th respectively and just two points off the drop zone.

Rovers don't have the best pedigree against Argyle of late - having won just three times in their past 15 league games against today's opponents.

Boss John Eustace has, however, masterminded a 2-1 win over Plymouth this season when he was in charge of Birmingham City.

A win would do either side the world of good in their survival aspirations.

  17. 'Ipswich need to remember where they've come from'published at 14:36 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    FT: Cardiff 2-1 Ipswich

    Barry Kent
    BBC Radio Suffolk summariser

At the end of the day, when you analyse the overall performance it wasn't good from Town. You felt when Cardiff got the equaliser, the moment was with them.

It's been a fantastic run for Ipswich and there's still loads to play for. They have to remember where they've come from. Cardiff are an established Championship club - Ipswich had them on the back foot for much of the second-half but they didn't create enough chances.

  18. As it standspublished at 14:35 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    FT: Cardiff 2-1 Ipswich

It's a huge win for Cardiff and their play-off ambitions.

For Ipswich, they stay third and have a far inferior goal difference to Leicester and Leeds.

  19. Four in a row for Bluebirdspublished at 14:34 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    FT: Cardiff 2-1 Ipswich

Amidst all the talk about Ipswich, it is a huge result for Cardiff.

A fourth straight win for Erol Bulut's side and they are now only four points adrift of the play-offs.

They will head into the derby with Swansea next Saturday with huge belief.

  20. FULL-TIMEpublished at 14:31 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    Cardiff 2-1 Ipswich

    Wow!

After 94 minutes, Ipswich were winning 1-0 and going level on points with leaders Leicester.

After 100 minutes, Cardiff had turned it around to produce a stunning comeback to keep Ipswich in third.

    This division is bonkers.
