A second Ipswich effort on target!

Sam Morsy tries his luck from 20+ yards, but it is straight into Ethan Horvath's midriff.

Better from the Tractor Boys, though.

Anon: Glad Kieffer Moore is ok, but both as Cardiff City fan & Cymru fan would prefer him to come off!

The visitors have started to boss possession, but they are struggling to make any clear-cut chances.

Only one effort on target and that was the tame early header from Kieffer Moore.

Into the final quarter of the game. Considering what is at stake, the tempo is very pedestrian.

Remember, a point will keep Ipswich in third, below Leeds on goal difference.

A win and they would go level on points with leaders Leicester.

I feel sorry for Jeremy Sarmiento because they just haven't got the ball to him. It's a shame because he's such a talented player, and he could be a match-winner, but Kieran McKenna has to do something.

Hopefully Nathan Broadhead and Omari Hutchinson can add a bit of fizz to the game because it's just meandering around at the moment.

  6. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 64 mins

    Cardiff 0-0 Ipswich

And as expected, Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna does shuffle his pack.

Conor Chaplin and Jeremy Sarmiento are hooked, with Nathan Broadhead and Omari Hutchinson sent on to make an impact.

Wales fans will be used to seeing Kieffer Moore play with a bandage on his head. The striker is a warrior who can cope with the rough stuff.

They'll also be relieved he's fine to continue, with their Euro 2024 play-off semi-final against Finland here in 12 days.

This second half has been a complete non-event.

We can't be far away from some changes.

Kieffer Moore is sat up but he is still receiving treatment.

There is a bandage and plenty of tape around his head.

But this lengthy delay will mean there will be lots of injury time to add on later.

  10. 'No change from the first half'published at 13:47 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

Ipswich had a little flurry but other than that, it's still how it was in the first half. They have been unable to get anything on the ball but they can, from nowhere, suddenly find something.

It looks like there's no other players getting stripped on the substitutions' bench but I imagine in the next 10 minutes, Kieran McKenna will be looking to inject some energy.

Kieffer Moore and Cardiff centre-back Dimitrios Goutas go for an aerial ball and both end up on the floor.

Moore seems to have that effect on people whenever he plays!

Although there's a bit of claret coming from his head, so the ex-lifeguard may be going all Terry Butcher on us for the rest of the game.

    Cardiff 0-0 Ipswich

Ipswich's principal creative forces, Conor Chaplin and Wes Burns, have been very quiet today.

They really need a bit more from them.

  13. Postpublished at 51 mins

    Cardiff 0-0 Ipswich

Cardiff have conceded only one goal in their last four games as they have found some real solidity.

They look well organised and have coped fairly comfortably with Ipswich's meagre threats so far.

One thing we know about Ipswich is that they keep going until the end.

There have been 19 goals from subs in their Championship games this season - a return of better than one in two.

Cardiff will have to stay switched on all game.

It is worth remembering that we are now into the last 10 games of the season, is that officially the run-in?

    Results are all that matters.

Who can step it up and grab the all-important three points as referee Oliver Langford gets this half under way?

The tempo might have waned since that blistering spell at the start of the game, but this might be the best half I've seen from Cardiff this season.

Erol Bulut will feel his side should be ahead after their flurry of early chances.

As for Ipswich, who've been so impressive lately, they haven't been allowed to play with their usual fluency - but you sense their time will come.

There wasn't much in goal scoring opportunities in that half. To be fair to Cardiff, they came out very well. There was nothing out of the ordinary but they certainly warmed Vaclav Hladky's hands.

Nobody is producing anything of any merit though. Jeremy Sarmiento still needs to come into the game but at the moment both teams are cancelling each other out.

Ipswich just aren't on it today and Cardiff are a threat. I wouldn't want to be a goal behind them because they defend very well.

Karlan Grant shoots over with the last action of the half after some positive footwork.

After a bright start in which Cardiff went closer, the game has drifted towards the break.

In terms of both teams' ambitions, they will need a goal in the second period.
