Bristol City youngster Tommy Conway is rewarded for his impact off the bench at Ipswich with a place in the starting line-up.

Conway, who scored a minute after entering the fray in the 3-2 reverse at Portman Road, is the only change made by City boss Liam Manning, with Nahki Wells included among the substitutes.

Bristol City XI: O'Leary, McCrorie, Vyner, Dickie, Pring, Gardner-Hickman, Williams, Knight, Cornick, Conway, Mehmeti.

Subs: Bajic, Roberts, Knight-Lebel, King, Twine, Mebude, Sykes, Wells.

Swans boss Luke Williams makes three changes to the starting line-up from their 1-1 draw at Watford.

Liam Cullen - who scored against the Robins earlier in the season - comes in along with Kyle Naughton and Joe Allen. Harry Darling, Jay Fulton and Jerry Yates all revert to the bench.

Swansea City XI: Rushworth, Cabango, Allen, Grimes, Paterson, Tymon, Placheta, Cullen, Wood, Naughton, Ronald.

Subs: Fisher, Key, Fulton, Darling, Yates, Lowe, Patino, Cooper, Abdulai.

    Dearie me, comedy of errors.

First West Brom defender Cedric Kipre gets away with a very lax pass across his own area when Jaheim Headley gets on the loose ball and passes it straight out of play.

Then, down the other end Lee Nicholls shanks a clearance straight at Grady Diangana and is lucky to see the ball dribble back to him rather than past him.

Sorba Thomas then shows some decent skill to fire a shot just past the Albion post.

Think that's the first shot of the contest, 20 minutes in.

Swansea have rarely returned empty-handed from across the border in recent times – they are unbeaten in their last four visits to Ashton Gate and in decent form as they aim to extend that run today.

Having drifted down the table in the early weeks of Luke Williams’ reign, the Welshmen are now undefeated in their last three matches and looking to widen the buffer zone between themselves and the relegation fight.

The Swans beat Sunderland and Blackburn before sharing the points against Watford at Vicarage Road in midweek and could leapfrog their opponents in the table if they secure another win today.

They will also be seeking revenge for a 2-1 defeat to the Robins in South Wales back in September, when Liam Cullen’s opener was cancelled out by goals for Mark Sykes and Sam Bell.

No real sign of West Brom dangerman Mikey Johnston so far today.

The Celtic loanee has scored four in his past six games for Albion, including a couple of absolute crackers.

Lee Nicholls in the Town goal shows he's alert early on though as he sprints off his line to stop a deep ball through to Adam Reach getting to the wideman.

  6. Manning 'frustrated' by Robins' losing runpublished at 12:16 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March

Bristol City v Swansea (12:30 GMT)

Bristol City manager Liam ManningImage source, Rex Features

“I’m frustrated that I keep saying the same things,” Bristol City boss Liam Manning admitted to BBC Radio Bristol in the wake of his side’s fourth straight defeat earlier this week.

Manning’s tendency towards repetition isn’t all that surprising given that the Robins’ recent performances have followed a pattern – they are competitive in games and yet have ended them with no points to show for their efforts.

Tuesday’s 3-2 defeat by promotion-chasing Ipswich was a case in point, with Anis Mehmeti and Tommy Conway twice giving City the advantage, only for the home side to storm back at wear them down in the closing stages.

But the Robins’ struggles have been more acute at Ashton Gate, where they have lost four of their last six games and failed to find the net in any of those defeats – although they did overturn the form book to beat Southampton 3-1 and end their opponents’ long unbeaten run.

Now Manning’s men must set about changing their own sequence of results, or they may soon be casting some anxious glances towards the congested relegation battle below them.

Valerien Ismael's departure from Watford on Saturday means the bottom 13 teams in the Championship at the start of play today have all changed managers this season, while the top 11 clubs all have the same bosses that began the campaign.

Something to be said for managerial stability?

Get in touch about that and today's two Championship games using the methods above.

Huddersfield look to get Delano Burgzog in behind the West Brom defence but Kyle Bartley does well to keep pace with the Dutchman and take it off him as he looks to to get a pass or shot off in the area.

Bartley then helps the referee with his communications device to his assistant.

Busy minute or so for the ex-Swansea man.

Huddersfield win an early free-kick out wide.

Sorba Thomas, who has an excellent delivery, sends in a high ball that is met by Jonathan Hogg at the back stick but the midfielder can't make the most of it as he looks to head it back across goal.

    Huddersfield 0-0 West Brom

    Tom Gayle
BBC Radio 5 Live commentator at the John Smith's Stadium

One journalist joked in the press room “I can’t be doing with these early starts!” Well I’m sure for Huddersfield and West Brom fans, kick-off can’t come soon enough after watching the results roll in from Friday night onwards.

With the respectable exception of Rotherham, everyone else in the Championship is either Premier League dreaming, or looking over their shoulder.

I think most Town fans will see getting anything out of today’s game as a bonus. Arguably, there are much more important fixtures just around the corner, given three of their next four matches are away trips to Rotherham and Stoke, plus Millwall at home.

It’s a first return back to the John Smiths Stadium for Carlos Corberan since he guided Huddersfield to the play-off final in 2022. He’ll have no room for sentiment, this is the first of seven games which ‘on paper’ West Brom would view as winnable.

    Weekend recap

There's been all sorts going on in the Championship so far this weekend.

Let's have a quick look back on the headlines from the first 10 games:

    • Leeds beat Sheffield Wednesday on Friday night for an 11th win in 12 this calendar year which saw them go second at the expense of Ipswich.
    • The Blues looked set to retake second spot but conceded twice at Cardiff in injury time to fall to a potentially damaging defeat.
    • Table-topping Leicester twice battled back from behind against Hull City but have now won just one of their past five games.
    • Watford became the 13th Championship team to change manager this season after sacking Valerien Ismael in the wake of their 2-1 home defeat by Coventry.
    • Southampton let a two-goal lead slip against Sunderland but fought back to win 4-2 and Norwich hammered rock-bottom Rotherham 5-0 to go sixth.
    • Stoke picked up a valuable win against Preston to move three points clear of the relegation zone and Millwall made it three wins from four under Neil Harris with a 1-0 home success against struggling Birmingham.
    • Middlesbrough secured a second successive win at the expense of 22nd-placed QPR and strugglers Blackburn and Plymouth shared the points in a 1-1 draw.

Huddersfield gaffer Andre Breitenreiter makes two changes from the team that started the narrow 1-0 loss in Cardiff in midweek. Jaheim Headley and Jonathan Hogg, who missed the game in Wales through suspension, return to the team.

Huddersfield XI: Nicholls, Pearson, Helik, Hogg, Burgzorg, Rudoni, Thomas, Headley, Spencer, Kasumu, Lees

Subs: Maxwell, Koroma, Diarra, Matos, Wiles, Balker, Ward, Jackson, Iorpenda.

West Brom also make two changes from their last outing. Defender Kyle Bartley and veteran forward Andi Weimann both come into the starting 11.

West Brom XI: Palmer, Furlong, Bartley, Kipre, Reach, Yokuslu, Mowatt, Wallace, Diangana, Johnston, Weimann.

Subs: Griffiths, Pieters, Ajayi, Pipa, Chalobah, M'Vila, Fellows, Swift, Thomas-Asante.

A win today would go a long way to securing West Brom's place in the play-offs.

The Baggies don't have a chance of catching the top two but can ill-afford a defeat that would mean they stayed just three points clear of eighth-placed Coventry.

To say it's tight down at the bottom of the Championship* would be a pretty massive understatement.

A win today for the third bottom Terriers will be enough to see them climb out of the relegation zone and up to at least 19th.

Bristol City, in 14th, are just six points clear of trouble and, on the back of four successive losses, will know that another reverse today could make for an uncomfortable end to the campaign.

    Good morning everyone!

Bit of an unusual one today in that we've got a pair of Championship games for you on this damp and grey (at least where I am anyway) Sunday.

First up, struggling Huddersfield will be looking to get one over former boss Carlos Corberan as he brings his play-off chasing West Brom to West Yorkshire.

Half an hour after that one gets under way there's action down in the West Country, as Bristol City host Swansea with both teams aware that their work to secure second tier football for next season is not yet done.

    Onwards!
