GOAL! Aberdeen 1-1 Hibernianpublished at 15:15 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2024

    Nicky Devlin

We've got a game at Pittodrie.

It doesn't take Aberdeen as long to level this time. A looped ball into the box finds Bojan Miovski who side-foots a volley at goal.

David Marshall gets down well, but Devlin slides in to equalise.

    Dundee 0-0 Ross County

    Jane Lewis
    BBC Scotland at Dens Park

It's been a lively old start here at Dens from both sides.

Some lovely exchanges, neat play, and both sides have had a pop at goal from distance.

    Decent stuff so far.

  3. goal

GOAL! Aberdeen 0-1 Hibernianpublished at 15:12 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2024

    Martin Boyle

    Oh...

Another disastrous start from Aberdeen. Kelle Roos' clearance is headed straight back at the defence and it's far too easy for Myziane Maolida to slip Boyle in on the right.

He rounds the keeper and tucks home.

A salmon-esque dive in celebration from Boyle. Wonder what all that's about...

    Livingston 0-0 St Mirren

Livingston are having to put up with early pressure form St Mirren.

The visitors win a free-kick just outside the centre circle. It ends up in the Livingston box but Mikael Mandron heads wide.

Livi get up the other end thanks to the resulting goal kick but St Mirren eventually get rid of the ball.

    Celtic 0-0 Kilmarnock

Kilmarnock create the first chance of the game as they look for an unprecedented third win over Celtic in a single season.

Corrie Ndaba makes the bye-line and the left-back's cross finds Marley Watkins rising under pressure at the back post, but the striker's header is straight at goalkeeper Joe Hart.

  7. CLOSE!published at 15:08 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2024

    Dundee 0-0 Ross County

First decent opening at Dens Park, and it comes for the hosts.

Lyall Cameron lets fly from 25 yards, his rasping effort whistling wide via a deflection.

A minute or so later, Yan Dhanda plays a clever ball through for Simon Murray on the break and links well with Eamonn Brophy.

The striker bends his shot just over the top from the edge of the box.

Good start from Kilmarnock in these opening few minutes.

Wide men Matty Kennedy and Danny Armstrong already seeing plenty of the ball.

    Hearts 0-0 Motherwell

    Brian McLauchlin
    BBC Scotland at Tynecastle

Another near sell-out at Tynecastle as the home fans look for their team to continue an excellent run of results.

But beware Motherwell. The Fir Park side have already won at Tynecastle this season and, despite being without two key players in Blair Spittal and Calum Butcher, they will be desperate to maintain their good run of form in the SPFL Premiership. .

  10. Plenty at stake for both sidespublished at 15:02 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2024

    Livingston 0-0 St Mirren

    Martin Dowden
BBC Sport Scotland at Tony Macaroni Arena

Livingston desperately need a win. Simple as that. It's been a torturous Premiership campaign with just two wins all season but that comeback cup win over Partick Thistle might just offer some spark.

They need to close that gap to Ross County with games ticking away.

For St Mirren, it's very much looking up the table right now. They're in a good place and will hope a win here would take them fourth in the table and further enhance their top six credentials.

    We are go.

  12. Taylor 'instrumental' to Celtic's gamepublished at 14:59 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2024

    Celtic v Kilmarnock (15:00)

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers says Greg Taylor comes straight into his starting line-up because the Scotland left-back had been playing so well before his injury.

"[Alexandro] Bernabei came in and did well, but Greg is a very important player for us," Rodgers says. "He is instrumental in how the team plays and functions."

Rodgers also praises the job Derek McInnes has done with Kilmarnock and avoids criticising the Celtic support, which has shown some frustration at recent performances.

"The Celtic support is everything," he adds. "It's why they've been voted the best supporters in the world. We have to give them something to cheer about."

  13. Hearts 'want to cause Motherwell more problems'published at 14:58 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2024

    Hearts v Motherwell (15:00)

Hearts head coach Steven Naismith tells BBC Scotland: "On the whole we've got a competitive squad and it's probably a sign of the progress we've made that everyone's doing what they can to be available and be ready for the game.

"The changes [to the team] suit this game and suit the personnel and gives us a bit of freshness as well.

"Every game we come into we look to exploit teams where we can. But we do know it will be a tough game - last time Motherwell played at Tynecastle they won, and they've got a style and structure they normally stick to.

"For us it's about being at home, causing them more problems than they cause us. We're on a good run, we've got good confidence and the squad's healthy."

  14. 'We have been brave' - McInnespublished at 14:54 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2024

    Celtic v Kilmarnock (15:00)

With Danny Armstrong back in the starting line-up, Kilmarnock manager Derek McInnes is asked if he is "having a go" given he is playing two wingers.

"We are just trying to pick a team that is best able to get us up the pitch and carry a threat," the manager tells BBC Scotland.

"We have been brave and hopefully we get our reward, but we have a healthy regard for Celtic and how they play and expect them to have two wide players as well.

"I think you have to have that counter-attacking threat, but there is a trade off. Those more attacking players have a responsibility to do the hard work tracking back."

Meanwhile, McInnes explains that former Motherwell striker Kevin van Veen drops to the bench because of the recent signing's lack of match fitness.

  15. 'The harder you work, the luckier you get'published at 14:53 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2024

    Livingston v St Mirren (15:00)

Livingston manager David Martindale tells BBC Scotland: "The boys have got to take a wee bit of positivity from their performance [last weekend].

"We have created a lot of chances previously and we actually took them against Partick Thistle last week. Hopefully the boys take a wee bit of confidence from that.

"I am a big believer in you make your own luck at times. We had a lot of things that have gone against us this season but I am a great believer in getting your head down, not moaning about it because it is only you that can change that adversity.

"The harder you work the luckier you get, that is how I look at it. If we can be a bit better in the final third we can get something from the game.

"We have had to rectify some of the defensive side, if you can get those foundations right the offensive side have a chance.

"In the Premiership it is fine margins at this level so you can't afford to give cheap goals away because the game becomes really difficult at that point."

  16. 'You can't expect easy ride at Livingston'published at 14:51 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2024

    Livingston v St Mirren (15:00)

St Mirren boss Stephen Robinson tells BBC Scotland: "Most people will say [we are favourites] judging on the league position, but it is never made easy here by Livingston.

"David Martindale's teams are always up for the scrap and fight and you have to win that battle first and foremost and play your football after that.

"I watched them last week against Partick Thistle and they were fighting and scrapping, they showed great character to come back from 2-0 down.

"If you come here expecting an easy ride you get your comeuppance. We certainly won't be going with that attitude."

  17. Beware the Bairpublished at 14:49 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2024

    Hearts v Motherwell (15:00)

    Theo BairImage source, SNS

There's been plenty of chat about Lawrence Shankland and Bojan Miovski this season - and rightly so - but Theo Bair has thrown himself right into that conversation recently.

The Motherwell striker has eight goals in his latest six games, quietening any of his doubters.

That takes his total for the season to 10 in 28 games, which is not bad going considering Well's struggle for consistency and mid-table position.

Indeed, today will see Bair on the same pitch as Shankland, who has just the 13 goals in his last 11 matches.

  18. Game of the day in Falkirk?published at 14:47 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2024

    Falkirk v Hamilton (15:00)

    Kenny Crawford
BBC Sport Scotland at Falkirk Stadium

It’s first versus second in League 1, and surely with a win this afternoon Falkirk will put one foot back in the Championship.

John McGlynn’s men are currently eight points clear of today’s visitors, second-placed Hamilton, and the Bairns also have a game in hand.

But an away victory for John Rankin’s Accies will certainly ruffle a few feathers here.

An impressive attendance of 5,500 is expected at the Falkirk Stadium.

  19. Aberdeen 'a bit too nice' - Warnockpublished at 14:45 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2024

    Aberdeen v Hibernian (15:00)

    Neil WarnockImage source, SNS

Aberdeen interim manager Neil Warnock tells BBC Scotland: "[The start against Motherwell] was terrible really, everything about it was just a disaster. But the lads showed a lot of character coming back like they did. It's not often teams come back like that and on another night, we could've won it.

"If anything, we're a bit too nice - if I've got criticism. Sometimes you need an edge and we've been trying to instil that into them. They couldn't give me any more, they're all working hard and trying their best. That's all they can do.

"We've got to get the crowd involved again, they were very good the other night. At 3-0 down, they could have killed us but they didn't.

"I have enjoyed it up here. I wish I'd come up a couple years ago. It would have been nice to sign a few of your own players and instil that toughness, but it wasn't to be.

"I'm ever so pleased for [Nick Montgomery], he did ever so well in Australia and he's got a good club. The Edinburgh clubs are both good clubs, but obviously I hope he loses today."

  20. Hibs 'near full strength' for Pittodrie trippublished at 14:44 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2024

    Aberdeen v Hibernian (15:00)

Hibernian manager Nick Montgomery tells BBC Scotland: "Going away to Inverness was a tough ask. As the game went on, we created a lot of opportunities.

"Every game is important, the most important game is always the next one. We're back to near full strength for the first time in a long time.

"Aberdeen didn't start well but they showed a lot of character to get back into the game.

"I call [Neil Warnock] 'gaffer'. He gave me my debut at 17, played a lot of games for him and had a lot of success with him. I've not seen him yet, I'm sure I'll hear him soon."
