Leeds United boss Daniel Farke, speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live:

"Very proud of this performance, but congratulations to Chelsea they were clinical today.

"In the second half we had more possession, more shots at goal and more expected goals.

"I left many key players out and young players in central places Mateo Joseph [did well] Archie Grey 17-year old in midfield [did well] and for that I am proud of their performances.

"No coincidence that we scored the second goal, we wanted to dominate possession in order to our stick to our beliefs - many compliments to my young lads."

Wolves

On facing Coventry in the next round: "You could get Man City away and Liverpool away, so there are tough games. I've seen quite a bit of Coventry and they've played some great stuff. To play them here in front of our fans with huge expectation on us won't be easy, definitely will not be easy so the lads will know how I feel about that feel about that game straight away, be really clear how we approach it.

"We've not been fantastic against teams that have been below us in the league this season so it will be a tough game. It will be a really, really tough game. We've got a few more important games between now and then. The fact that we have to go to Newcastle in two days is crazy really, crazy schedule but we'll try and get the boys recovered and we'll do our best to go to St James' Park and see if we can get another result."

On the draw: "I was made aware, it does seem strange [the draw being made before the game]. The moment we travelled to Brentford to play in the third round we set out with the aim to obviously try and win the FA Cup. We know there are a huge amount of hurdles in the way and it's going to be really really tough but while you're in the competition, that has to be your aim.

"We went down to 10 men, we had to scrap for 90 minutes with 10 at Brentford, scrap for 120 [minutes] in the replay so the lads are just taking the competition very very seriously and whoever we got in the next round, we were desperate to win again tonight, especially against Brighton because we haven't beaten them in a while, I've never beaten them as a coach. It was just an important game for us regardless of who we had but a home draw is good for us because we love playing here."

Chelsea

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino, speaking to ITV Sport, called the win "a big relief" and was asked how he has viewed his club's performances this season.

"It is difficult because of the expectations," he said. "The team needs to find the right balance during the season and you need time and they can perform. It is normal that you need time but in the past four weeks we are doing fantastic.

"The team are fighting and starting to behave like a team. We are short a bit in the squad and we have 10-12 always injured players. Enzo [Fernandez] and [Moises] Caicedo are playing and playing and we don't have players to give them a rest. The changes were because we need to give some players some rest.

"Cole Palmer was sick last night, [Ben] Chilwell had some problems, [Conor] Gallagher also."

On ex-England defender Gary Neville's comment where he called Chelsea the 'blue billion-pound bottle jobs' after their Carabao Cup final loss to Liverpool, Pochettino added: "He was frustrated because Liverpool won another title. I think it's not fair to accuse people in this way, with a team that's very young.

"The expectation is massive because we are Chelsea but this team needs to build and build the confidence. The unity is starting to grow, it's not magic, you can't just create it."

Liverpool's Jayden Danns speaking to BBC Sport: "I couldn’t be happier today. Today is the best day of my life. I’ve watched Liverpool since I was a young boy and to score at the Kop End is more than a dream. I couldn’t be happier.

“In the Carabao Cup final I had a couple of opportunities to score so I came into today thinking ‘bury the next one’. I couldn’t describe it [what feels like to celebrate in front of the Kop]. It is a dream come true. The first thing I thought was to slide on my knees. It was an unbelievable experience.

“The senior players are so helpful to us and all us young players, half of them are my team-mates at 18s, and it is a mad experience and doing it together is crazy.

"My next thought is just to score next time I come on. I am grateful for the opportunities the boss and staff are giving me. I’ll just keep working hard to become the best player I can."

Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp speaking to ITV: "It was an incredible game. Southampton are a top side, we all saw that. Our midfield press in the first half was not the right timing. They tried to do what we told them but it was hard to show them. They had big chances and we had to run a lot and we needed Caoimhin [Kelleher] to save us. We scored a wonderful goal, we tried everything before that. It was so intense and they ran themselves into the ground, we needed to find a way and we did that. The second half was much better.

"Lewis [Koumas] is a fantastic finisher but they’ve got to learn and improve. Dannsy [Jayden Danns] is quite a good finisher, the first goal was exceptional, but the goals are no different to the youth level. The second goal is just his nose, we saw that in the final, he was just a little bit unlucky. The whole end was a bit special again. We don’t want to make it all about us. The whole situation is horribly difficult. Any positive mood around the changing room and training room, we accept we're in a difficult moment and try and find solutions.

"It’s great to be in the quarter-finals and we don’t take these things for granted. We deserved to go through, it was a top, top performance.

There was a huge roar of relief on the full time whistle from the home fans, quickly followed by smiles all round from a Wolves perspective.

For just the third time this millennium, they're through to a quarter final. Gives you a sense of just how much supporters here have been craving a good cup run.

Brighton's sole focus for silverware is now the Europa League.

As for Wolves, one game at time, but they have a real chance of a Wembley semi-final if they can get past Coventry, here at Molineux, in the next round.

Wolves

Wolves boss Gary O'Neil speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "Brighton are a really good side, the way they play, tough to get the ball back off, the lads were disciplined, we know that's how they play. They do take risks though, they do leave you with opportunities to counter attack and win the ball back and we did have probably equal amount of good opportunities as they did, just that they had a lot of the ball and the lads had to defend and be resolute.

"The crowd played a massive part in helping the boys later on in the game when you could see we were tiring. The noise from the stadium was incredible. A really good evening, tough side to beat and we're delighted to get through to the quarter-finals."

On his selection for the match: "Really pleased [with the players who came in], it was a really tough team to pick. Channy [Hwang Hee-Chan] felt his hamstring a little bit which for a squad as small as this, especially in that area, is a disaster but trying to pick the right ones to rest and which ones can play was a tough couple of days for us. Channy's doesn't look too serious, seems like a little one.

"But the lads who came in, I thought Doc [Matt Doherty] was excellent defensively. very very good. Tommy Doyle was very good, [Jean-Ricner] Bellegarde started to tire, started to lose his quality a little bit towards the end but he caused them some problems. So delighted really, delighted that we were able to change it and still win the game, because winning the game was the most important thing but we're a small group and we can't afford to just keep injuring people so we needed to be clever and apart from Channy we got through it ok."

Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp speaking to BBC Sport: "It was a special week for all of us. I do the job for a little while and you don’t have weeks like that too often. This was a tough game in a horribly difficult situation for us. We have to accept it and see who we can line-up. Today the solution was Joe Gomez playing six for the first time in his life. We were all over the place in the first 15 minutes, the pressing was horrendous. We had problems and Southampton used that. Caoimhin [Kelleher] saved us a lot with top saves.

"After 15 minutes the high press got a lot better, the midfield press we tried to sort at half-time. Football is not easy and if you’ve got momentum you’ve got to keep it. We got it back and scored two wonderful goals in the second half. Danns you could see that second goal coming, he has that nose. We saw it in the final. He had that luck and he was there to score that goal. It was a wonderful game to watch."

Southampton

Southampton manager Russell Martin talking to ITV: "I don’t think it was a fair reflection, we had the better chances and we could have been 2-0 up before they even got close to our goal. It was more than promise, we showed some real bravery and they should have ended up in goals.

"The big frustration is that we lost and especially 3-0. The difference is the quality and finishing. It is composure and their keeper made some amazing chances.

"I’ve said the players should be really proud of themselves but we’ve got to score in those moments. I’m incredibly proud, I am frustrated that we lost and I thought it was an amazing chance to progress, but we haven’t done it.

"I'll take that performance and if we are to lose, I want to lose playing our way. If we play like that for the rest of the season we’ll be more than fine."

For me Conor Gallagher is one of the standout performers this season, I like what he does - he adds an energy to the way Chelsea play.

Disappointing performance from Chelsea, there was flashes of what they are capable of and the game did drift away from them.

The way they are not killing teams at the moment, I suppose when you step away it is a positive result, but the manner in which it came was a little disappointing.

Chelsea

Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah, speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: "Criticism is part of football and there is always going to be something said - it's important we focus on ourselves.

"In football there is always a next opportunity to get your spirits up."

On coming back from behind: "You can see Leeds' quality, they have shown good quality which we had to match.

"Going 1-0 down is not what we wanted - we had to show the gritty side today."

On mentality after the final loss: "I played in cup finals and I know what it means, it is not nice [to lose].

"It's a new bunch of lads and our first final together, it did hurt us all but we have another opportunity to get to a final."

Wayne Rooney

To play Liverpool in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup is massive for Manchester United. And it's a chance for them to go one step further than last season.

It's a big month for United. We all know there are a few changes coming up.

Gareth: Is Klopp trying to give everyone at the club a game before he leaves? Dya reckon he'll have brought the dinner ladies on by the end of the season?

Sam: The legacy Klopp's built might not have the trophies of Ferguson but the culture, passion, determination of players fighting for each other like family from top to bottom is AF esque. It's just unfathomable he's leaving it all behind. Hopefully he changes his mind like AF

Chelsea

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: "I think in the context of the week, I am happy.

"Amazing effort from the team, it wasn’t easy. Leeds are a very good team, one of the best in Championship. The performance wasn’t great but we scored at the end and won the game.

"Of course, it is about building our confidence again. When you face a team like Leeds they are full of confidence and it is not easy when you start losing the game.

"But, I think this type of game like the final is a good experience to be better every single week.

"The team is in good spirit and the relationship with the players is in a very good way."

Liverpool

Liverpool's Harvey Elliott speaking to ITV: "It has been unbelievable. We can easily get carried away in the circumstances [of the Carabao Cup final]. It was an emotional day and amazing. It would have been easy to come here tonight and forget the job that we needed to do.

"Ever since this man [Jayden Danns] came on this season he's been amazing."

On Manchester United in the next round: "Another tough game. The games don't stop. It is going to be tough, especially away, but we won't concentrate on that now. we've got another tough game at the weekend and we'll just keep going and go game by game."
