    Everton 0-0 Liverpool

Both of these sides have scored the majority of their WSL goals this season in the second half.

    Hopefully that pattern continues today.

    Bristol City 0-1 Tottenham

Well, there's a first chance for Bristol City.

Ella Powell gets behind the Spurs defence on the left-hand side and ends up one-on-one with Rebecca Spencer, but her shot is straight at the Tottenham goalkeeper and an easy save.

    Bristol City 0-1 Tottenham

Tottenham's attacking pressure has been relentless.

They're hitting Bristol City on both wings and the hosts are stuck in their own half.

Grace Clinton receives the ball on the edge of the area but her initial touch is too heavy and she can't get a shot away.

    Bristol City 0-1 Tottenham

The opener was a big goal for Bethany England.

She's struggled with injury this season and that's her first goal of the campaign.

She scored 12 in 12 matches last season after signing in the winter break but hadn't managed any so far in 2023-24.

    It didn't take long!

Bristol City suffer the same fate that Leicester did last week.

Grace Clinton plays a tidy ball into the box, it's collected by Bethany England and she fires past Fran Bentley at the near post after some neat footwork to beat her marker.

This is really a must-win for Bristol City. It isn't going to plan.

Spurs get the game under way.

Matilda Vinberg scored within two minutes last time. Could Tottenham cause the same danger today?

    Emma Sanders
    BBC Sport at Goodison Park

I've seen better football matches, put it that way...

Both teams have lacked quaility and it's almost as if they are trying to avoid defeat as opposed to going for a winner.

Leanne Kiernan has been Liverpool's brightest player and she had a few decent runs but she hasn't been able to capitalise.

Everton haven't had a single shot on target but Emma Bissell's strike which fizzed into the side-netting was probably the best chance of the match.

  11. What the stats saypublished at 13:58 Greenwich Mean Time 24 March

Bristol City v Tottenham (14:00 GMT)

    • Bristol City have lost 12 of their 16 Women’s Super League matches this season (W1 D3), only in 2020-21 have they lost more matches within a single season (14), a campaign that saw them finish bottom of the division and relegated with just 12 points.
    • Bristol City have lost each of their last 10 WSL home games and could equal the longest ever losing streak at home in the competition this weekend (Yeovil Town – 11, April 2017 – April 2018); the Robins could also become the second team to lose their first eight home games of a campaign after Doncaster Rover Belles in 2016.
    • Bristol City are winless in four WSL meetings with Tottenham Hotspur (D2 L2), their joint-most games played against an opponent without winning in the competition (also D2 L2 v Aston Villa).
    • Tottenham's Beth England has scored 11 goals in 13 WSL appearances against Bristol City with only Vivianne Miedema scoring more often against a single opponent in the competition’s history (14 v Bristol City and 12 v Reading).

The teams are out at Ashton Gate.

Can Bristol City finally pick up the vital points they need to rescue their hopes of safety?

  13. 'We have to close the gap'published at 13:56 Greenwich Mean Time 24 March

Bristol City v Tottenham (14:00 GMT)

Bristol City haven't got long if they want to try and rescue their season.

They are six points adrift at the bottom of the Women's Super League in their first season since returning to the top flight - and there are just six games left.

Worse still, they've got matches against all of the top three - Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal - among their remaining games.

"We've got to do what we can to try and win the game on Sunday and close that gap," said manager Lauren Smith. "The teams that we're chasing have games to play as well. We have to make sure we have a foundation this week and we are better than last week, and hopefully we get more than last week."

  14. Spurs in good formpublished at 13:55 Greenwich Mean Time 24 March

Bristol City v Tottenham (14:00 GMT)

It took Tottenham a while to get going after the winter break, but they've performed well in their past two games.

They beat fellow Women's FA Cup semi-finalists Leicester City 1-0 last weekend thanks to an early Matilda Vinberg goal.

Their penalty shootout victory over title challengers Manchester City two games ago booked Spurs' ticket to the semis, where they will host Leicester after the international break.

Will Tottenham make it three wins in a row at Ashton Gate today?

This game is just waiting for someone to step up as a leader and say 'Right let's get the ball down and get playing.'

The misplaced passes so far have been far too many from both sides.
