It's time for the final game of the weekend.

It was delayed by 45 minutes and we've still got just over half an hour to go until Aston Villa v Arsenal at 19:30 GMT.

I'll leave you in the capable hands of Michael Emons who'll be talking you through that one.

  2. 'Those kind of mistakes completely ruin the game'published at 18:57 Greenwich Mean Time 24 March 2024

    FT: West Ham 0-2 Chelsea

    West Ham United

West Ham manager Rehanne Skinner speaking to Sky Sports: "To be honest, it seems like at the time that we scored the goal which was more than a metre onside, obviously we go in in a completely different landscape. Last week there were two goals that were scored against us, neither of which should have stood which is another point, draw for us.

"Tottenham game, we get an apology after the game for a goal that should never have stood for offside. I'm getting a bit sick of it to be honest. We have had chances today and obviously we need to make sure we take those chances but just the way that the game goes on, we just cannot keep having those types of mistakes in games because it completely ruins the game."

  3. 'It won't always be top performances but you gut it out'published at 18:54 Greenwich Mean Time 24 March 2024

    FT: West Ham 0-2 Chelsea

    Chelsea

More from Chelsea boss Emma Hayes speaking to Sky Sports:

On if Chelsea weren't at their level: "I'm not going to be harsh on my team, we're playing a game every three days. When you do this time and time again I don't think it is always going to be top, top performances, but you gut it out. I'm really pleased with my team.

On the subs: "Absolutely [gave Chelsea fresh legs]. Mayra came on and was very commanding, Cat, Fran, Erin, Guro at the end - all of them played their part.

On if wins like today bring trophies: "If you want to win the league you have to come here and win. I knew what the game would be, so well done to our team. I want to give them a pat on the back. Normally I'm hard on them, but today I am really pleased."

West Ham boss Rehanne Skinner wasn't happy with the refereeing decisions this evening. We'll bring you what she said shortly.

"The bottom line is if that's how I operated in my job, I wouldn't be in my job"

  5. 'We were fortunate to be 1-0 up at half time'published at 18:50 Greenwich Mean Time 24 March 2024

    FT: West Ham 0-2 Chelsea

    Chelsea

Chelsea boss Emma Hayes speaking to Sky Sports: "We got an early goal which helped. I thought we were fortunate to be 1-0 up at half time - our defending out of possession was... We struggled, didn't take responsibility in the right moments.

"I changed something at half time and second half it was much better from the team as a whole. But also the freshness from the bench, for me that was the key difference.

On change at half time: "I never tell and I'm not going to. Something that was good for us, and it worked, gaver us the ascendancy.

On the first half being played on one side of the pitch: "Yes it was. I think it was also because of the transition. We'd turn the ball over and it would come straight down that side of the pitch. Like I said I think we were fortunate to be 1-0 at the break.

"Second half delighted to get the second goal. [Relieved?] I don't know about that neccesarily. I didn't feel that. I did feel it was critical that we got a second goal.

On the first goal: "They gave us that space and we exploited it. Sometimes I don't think we did it enough in the first half. Sometimes you want to over play.

"The turnover was our biggest problem, out of possession in the first half we struggled. The half time adjustments and the subs really helped."

  7. 'The title is going to be there for us to win this year 'published at 18:46 Greenwich Mean Time 24 March 2024

    FT: West Ham 0-2 Chelsea

    Chelsea

Chelsea goalscorer Aggie Beever-Jones speaking to Sky Sports: "Coming from back to back games, we don't underestimate anybody. Two great goals from us but the standard wasn't there today."

On the performance: "It's the Chelsea standard for us, we want to win every game and win with good performances and we weren't up to scratch today. We weren't up to standard but we have games every three days so we have to be happy with it and we got the job done. We're champions of England, we want to be in all four competitions and it creates opportunities for us to get fresh legs off the bench."

On her goal and the team element of it: "To be fair, I just remember screaming at LJ [Lauren James] to pass it and I finished it first time and hit it well. We've been working on playing out all week. Hannah [Hampton's] distribution is a great asset to us. We've been working on it all week and it was nice to see it come off on the pitch."

On being at the heart of Chelsea's team: "I dreamt of it but didn't necessarily think it was a reality. It's what you dream of as a kid, getting in these title races so the title is going to be there for us to win this year so it's just about making sure we give it our all."

It definitely wasn't easy for Chelsea, but they return to the top of the Women's Super League with victory over West Ham.

The Irons will feel hard done by - they should've equalised but had a goal incorrectly ruled out for offside.

In the end, Chelsea scored a second and it wouldn't have mattered anyway.

It could have been such a different game if things had gone slightly differently in the first half. West Ham could have been 3-1 up at one point. The fine margins between scoring and not.

The substitutes too make the difference, the quality they can bring on, explains why Chelsea are where they are and fighting in four competitions.
