Comfortable enough for Manchester City, any time Palace looked dangerous it was through slack play from City.

But, Man City got the job done and it has been a tough place to go over the last couple of years.

They'll be much more in-tune for the game against Real Madrid as it's a much tougher test.

It is rare to see both managers on the pitch during the pre-match warm-ups but both Gary O'Neil and David Moyes are out there.

Neither is playing any role. Moyes has his arms folded and is wandering around, watching the Wolves players as much as his own.

O'Neil was chatting to his coaches before Wolves broke into an extended passing drill.

This must be a weird time for a manager. Their planning is done, their role is almost complete.

What are their final words going to be before the players leave the dressing rooms to get on with the game?

Manchester City goalscorer Rico Lewis on TNT Sports: "It's a very difficult place to come. The fans that travel every week, we thank them so much because it means so much. To get the win is amazing.

"The main message was to keep on going. The chances would come. We needed to get into the box and that's what we did.

"As a kid you dream of scoring a goal and celebrating. I want to get more goals and assists.

"I don't know but I enjoy playing midfield the most. I want to contribute but the manager decides where I'm most effective.

"It's just like every other title race. We have to win every game. There's three teams in it and we have to be the strongest team."

It is a tough place to come to Selhurst Park, they fell behind but responded well and dominated the game since the opener. After a shaky start they showed their quality.

A good afternoon, hopefully injury free, and ready for their trip to Madrid on Tuesday.

Pep Guardiola's reaction there says everything, just highlights his frustration to conceding a poor goal.

Although it has been so comfortable for City they will be disappointed with that, they don't usually give away such soft goals.

    That was a tidy finish.
