    FT: Fulham 0-1 Newcastle

    Chris Wise
    Final Score at Craven Cottage

Feels appropriate that Bruno Guimaraes is the match-winner on his 100th Newcastle appearance.

That’s the first clean sheet that Newcastle have picked up on their Premier League travels since that 0-8 win at Sheffield United in September.

They looked shaky in the first half-hour, but grew into the game, particularly after the break. Newcastle now just a point behind Manchester United.

  2. 'A much tougher game for Arsenal'published at 17:14 British Summer Time 6 April

    Brighton v Arsenal (17:30 BST)

The amount of changes that Arsenal made against Luton in midweek was interesting, but they still won very comfortably.

This is going to be a much tougher game because we know Brighton have got that ability, on any given day, to produce a really outstanding performance.

I still expect Arsenal to win, though, helped by how good their defence is.

Gabriel and William Saliba have been absolutely phenomenal and have been the Premier League's outstanding centre-half partnership this season.

    Sutton's prediction: 1-2

Here's how it looks at the bottom of the table after today's results. Luton are the big winners as they move level on points with Nottingham Forest, who are at Tottenham tomorrow.

Everton move above Brentford into 15th and they are four points clear of the drop.

Once again, people like Andy completely missing the point that Luton were expected to be battered every week by the league and yet they're within touching distance of safety, regardless of other teams' financial ineptitude. Don't hide financial mismanagement like it's a completely minor and moot point. It's extremely significant. As is Luton's overachievement so far.

    Shaun

Andy @17.00 those sanctions mean Everton and Forest didn't abide by the rules so they got an unfair advantage over teams like Luton. If Luton stay up, it is therefore salient because they have done so on equal terms.

    Jagon, Bristol

I’m not sure why people seem to think Luton wouldn’t deserve to stay up. Would Everton and Forest even be in the league if they didn’t break the rules? Luton are an amazing representation of what makes the Premier League the best league in the world! Love watching them play and hope they stay! ❤️

Amazing result for Luton. Really needed that after a tough month of results. Hope we can use this and build some momentum! COYH!

I respectfully disagree Andy, 17:00. Luton deserve to stay up because they got those points without breaking rules. Fairy tale or not, if they stay up its on merit.

Genuinely unsure how that wolves goal has been ruled out. How is the goalkeeper anywhere near that regardless of the players position? This is total madness. What is happening with VAR?

Again, admirable as Luton are, they would be adrift if it wasn’t for points deductions. People seem to be so desperate for a ‘fairytale’ they keep ignoring this extremely significant point. It isn’t much of a fairytale if you stay up because of other clubs financial incompetence, or recklessness combined with absurd application of adhoc rules.
