Allison back in the Liverpool team is huge at this stage of the season. Kelleher has been great but not only is Allison the best in the world, he's an absolute leader, which Liverpool need in the run in. The Reds have reached the summit on fumes so having their main players back will hopefully make such a difference - a few key injuries for City and Arsenal would help too.

If Villa did slip out of Champions League contention it would be disappointing, but Europa League next season would still represent progress for a team that was playing the likes of Rotherham and Birmingham City 5 years ago in the Championship. Want them to finish 4th, obviously, but progress is a marathon, not a sprint.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta says he can only "look at one day and one game" at a time as his side challenges for the Premier League title.

They face a tough test to return to the top when they host top-four chasing Aston Villa on Sunday.

When asked in his pre-match news conference earlier this week if it was difficult to not look further ahead, the Spaniard said: "It is the only thing possible to look at one day, one game.

"It is the only thing that maintains your focus and determining the task you have to do on the day, which is the only thing you can control."

If Arteta was to lead his side to the title, he would become the first Gunners boss to do so since Arsene Wenger in 2003-04, but he said this is not something he is thinking about.

"I think about what we have to do to beat the next opponent," he added. "It's the job that we live. The game finishes. Fifteen minutes after Luton, I was watching Brighton.

"You don't have time [to look at the bigger picture], you have to prepare for the next game and then you are onto the next one."

West Ham v Fulham (14:00 BST)

    • West Ham are unbeaten in their past 12 Premier League home games against Fulham (W8 D4), since a 2-0 loss in their first meeting in the competition in November 2001. The Hammers have won the past five, scoring three goals on four occasions.
    • Following their 5-0 win at Craven Cottage in December, Fulham are looking to complete their first league double over West Ham since 1965-66.
    • Only bottom two sides Burnley (14) and Sheffield United (15) are on a longer run without a Premier League clean sheet this season than the Hammers' 12. However, David Moyes' side have also scored in their past seven games, losing just one of these.
    • Only Burnley and Sheffield United (12 each) have failed to score in more Premier League games than Fulham this season, with the Whites' 1-0 loss to Newcastle last time out the 11th time they have drawn a blank this term.
    • Mohammed Kudus has had more successful dribbles than any other player in the Premier League this season (91) - the most by a West Ham player on record in a season in the competition (since 2005-06).
    • Since the start of February (when he netted his first goal), only Manchester City's Phil Foden (nine) has scored more Premier League goals than Rodrigo Muniz. However, only two of the Fulham forward's eight goals have come away from home.

I love Klopp and his teams energy as much as any other Liverpool fan but they do have a track record of burning out towards the business end of the Premier League season -- probably the playing style taking its toll. Once it starts they begin to look quite naive in defence. I'm trying to convince myself that a new manger might improve the team tactically in that sense.

A 3-0 win for Liverpool is the bare minimum today. We need to get that goal difference up - the thought of "It's up for grabs now" and losing another title to Arsenal on GD is beyond nightmare.

I've seen a fair bit of Fulham recently and they've been so up and down. There's a lot of incosistency. It's a fairly old squad. You never know what you are going to get. They have some good players with great talent, but they have been getting leaky, especially at the back.

Rodrigo Muniz has surprised me. I saw him in the Championship. He's really taken the mantle on, he looks confident in front of goal and capable of taking his chances. for 22 years old, eight goals in his last 10 games is an incredible return.

  10. Liverpool to increase prices despite fan protestspublished at 13:32 British Summer Time 14 April

Liverpool will push ahead with plans for ticket prices to increase by 2% for next season, despite protests from supporters.

Fans took a stance against the plans in Thursday night's loss to Atalanta by refusing to display flags in the Kop.

Liverpool representatives met the club's supporters board last Saturday and agreed "more meaningful engagement" is needed over ticket prices.

But the Premier League club stated the 2% increase, external will "not be reversed".

The club says it has "paused" plans to increase membership prices as a result of the meeting.

Speaking before Thursday's protests, manager Jurgen Klopp said he hoped a "solution" would be found between the club and fans.

"I understand the concerns and the discussion,' said Klopp, who will leave Liverpool at the end of the season.

"What we should make sure is that nothing gets between us and the supporters."

There's not much room for error in terms of dropping points for Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp will be trying to make it as not emotionally heavy as possible either way. You'd back them to score goals and without saying it is done and dusted, I can't see them not coming away with a win today.

What a season it has been for Rodrigo Muniz. He leads Fulham's goalscoring leader board with eight Premier League goals and one assist this season.

All eight of those goals have come since the start of February. Only Manchester City's Phil Foden has scored more (nine) in that time.

The Brazilian won last month's Premier League player of the month and Cottagers manager Marco Silva said "he deserves it".

"It's another good example of things changing so quickly. Everyone outside the club had doubts about him, but he had a chance and he showed his quality," said Silva.

    • Liverpool are unbeaten in their past 13 Premier League games against Crystal Palace (W11 D2) since a 2-1 home loss in April 2017.
    • Having won their first Premier League game under Oliver Glasner, Palace are now without a victory in five.
    • The Reds are unbeaten in their past 28 home league games, winning 22 and drawing six. However, they have not kept a clean sheet in their past eight at Anfield, last having a longer run between December 1998 and May 1999 (nine matches).
    • The Eagles have conceded about 10 goals more than expected in the Premier League this season (54 goals conceded, 44.3 xG against), with only Sheffield United having a bigger such difference in the competition this term (82 conceded, 61.2 xG against).
    • Liverpool have had 629 shots in the Premier League this season, at least 70 more than any other side. Their average of 20.3 shots per game is the third highest on record (since 1997-98) in a Premier League campaign, after Chelsea in 2009-10 (21.9) and 2008-09 (21).
    • Jean-Philippe Mateta has scored four goals in his past six league games for Crystal Palace, with his seven overall this season his best return in a Premier League campaign.

Former Liverpool winger Steve McManaman suggested "the wheels have come off" for the Reds after their heavy home defeat by Atalanta in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final on Thursday.

It was Liverpool's first loss at Anfield in 34 games, but the ease with which the Serie A side carved through the team's defence will surely have been a concern for boss Jurgen Klopp with key games still to come in the title race too.

Is it a damaging defeat for the season or will the Reds bounce straight back?

It is massive and there is still a chance England have that fifth Champions League spot, Arsenal can still knock out Bayern Munich, Aston Villa and Manchester City can go through. It is more likely that Germany get the fifth spot ahead of England.

I'm not sure I've ever seen a schedule as tough as Tottenham's. To start with at hammering at Newcastle, then a north London derby, then Chelsea away, Liverpool away, Burnley then City at home.

Aston Villa, at Arsenal today, don't have a fixture list as bad as Tottenham's. I don't think I've ever seen any team play as many of the top teams in such quick succession.

  16. Race for the Champions Leaguepublished at 13:18 British Summer Time 14 April

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport

Liverpool’s unexpected defeat by Atalanta, coupled with West Ham’s late reverse in Leverkusen has damaged England’s hopes of securing a fifth Champions League spot next season.

Both England and Germany gained two co-efficient points on Thursday, thanks to victories for Aston Villa and Bayer Leverkusen.

However, Germany’s points are worth slightly more as they are divided by seven – the number of Bundesliga teams in Europe this season – rather than England’s eight.

So Germany remain in second spot in the overall table on 16.785, just ahead of England on 16.75.

Additional points are awarded for qualification as well as match results, so Arsenal and West Ham’s second legs against German opposition next week are going to be crucial.

With five points last night, from two wins and a draw, Italy has now moved clear at the top with 18.428 and are now virtually certain to get one of the two additional places in next season’s Champions League.

Roma, currently fifth in Serie A, are in line to profit, although it also benefits surprise challengers Bologna, who are fourth.

Aston Villa fans must have been rubbing their hands when they saw that Tottenham had suffered such a heavy loss to Newcastle on Saturday at St James' Park.

It means they remain fourth, tied on 60 points with Ange Postecoglou's side and a result at the Emirates today would give them big confidence for the run-in.

There's been a lot of chat around a fifth Champions League spot being available for a Premier League team next season but Aston Villa will not want to rely on that scenario. Particularly as it looks increasingly unlikely, here's why...

Aston Villa know they can beat Arsenal having done so earlier this season.

But Villa boss Unai Emery says he expects a "completely different" match on Sunday to the one they won 1-0 win at Villa Park to move within two points of the Gunners.

Since then, Villa have slipped away from the top three but remain well-placed for Champions League qualification.

Asked if Villa can repeat that victory, Emery said: "This is completely different, we played at home at Villa Park in December. It's something similar because a lot of players will again be playing and fighting in those teams, but different because we are playing at Emirates Stadium and in a different context.

"They are now fighting to win the Premier League this year and we are now fighting behind them trying to keep our fifth position we have now and fighting with Tottenham.

"It is different because as well some players, being injured, are not going to play on Sunday."

It might seem like it's all about the title race, but it's not.

West Ham host Fulham at the London Stadium as they continue their pursuit of another year of European football.

They sit eighth in the Premier League, two points behind Manchester United and Newcastle and a win today would see them leapfrog both of those teams into sixth.
