Aston Villa look more of a threat, a lot more energised.

Another double change for Villa. Lucas Digne and Nicolo Zaniolo come on for Alex Moreno and Morgan Rogers.

Outstanding defending by West Ham after some great attacking play by Villa. Emerson was able to fly across and get a block on it.

Almost inevitably Mossa Diaby and Leon Bailey then link up well - Bailey's shot is dangerous and well charged down.

That's got the away end going!

Alphonse Areola has only had to make two saves all day. Villa don't often play Moussa Diaby and Leon Bailey in the same team and you can see why since that half-time change. They are both looking to play in the same area on the right.

Aston Villa weren't able to lay a glove on West Ham in the first half but the second half does look better.

I don't know. Unai Emery has been pretty transformative for Villa, along with some very good signings. They will stay in the top four today even with a defeat here.

Is it fair to say that Moyes doesn't get enough credit and Emery may have received too much?

Nobody wants to hear any excuses about a flat performance on a Sunday after a big European night on a Thursday but there has to be an element of that in Villa's performance today. Human nature, surely.

Also, while I'm stating the obvious they have really missed John McGinn. Still time to find a way back into this though.

Aston Villa need to get themselves going at the start of this second half, they could have easily found themselves two goals down.

West Ham nine points off top four and in another European QF... Some Moyes out fans aren't true West Ham fans.

A real lifeline for the viistors then. They react well, winning a corner of their own with a lightning attack.

So many bodies in the way but I do think it is the right call. Michail Antonio just turns his arm towards the ball.

Emi Martinez and Aston Villa get away with one - that is chalked off for handball with the ball hitting Michail Antonio on the elbow before going in.

It's whipped into a really good area and no one deals with it from a Villa perspective. I don't think it's a foul.

    Michail Antonio (48 mins)

West Ham have been a real threat from corners all day and that's ended up in the back of the net! Jarrod Bowen's inswinging corner is a beauty, Emi Martinez is in a bit of a flap again and the ball hits Michail Antonio a yard out and goes in.

They will check this for a foul or handball...

There's still work to do for West Ham in this second half, despite how good they were in the first. They have to expect a response from Aston Villa.

Immediate impact from Matty Cash overlapping on the right, he links up well with Leon Bailey and his low cross is cut out. Villa normally play one attacking full-back and one more inverted, they've got Cash and Alex Moreno out there and it could open up for West Ham on the counter.

    Indeed he will.

Matty Cash and Moussa Diaby are coming on for Clement Lenglet and Jhon Duran. That presumably will see Ezri Konsa shift over.
