  1. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 21:18 Greenwich Mean Time 22 March

    Romania 1-1 Northern Ireland

Two further changes for Northern Ireland, with Michael O'Neill sensing that his side were starting to tire.

Ali McCann is on for Jordan Thompson, whilst Josh Magennis replaces the goal scorer Jamie Reid, who looked lively on his international debut.

  2. Northern Ireland have 'weathered the storm'published at 21:15 Greenwich Mean Time 22 March

    Romania 1-1 Northern Ireland

    John O'Neill
Former Northern Ireland defender on BBC Radio Ulster

The game has died a little bit, they had their little flourish for the first 10 minutes of the second half and we weathered the storm.

This is when you need the experience to help see the game out and make sure we keep everything tight at the back and if we get anything at the other end, we'll take it.

To come away from Romania with a draw, with such an unexperienced side would be a great result, but there is still a long way to go.

  3. Postpublished at 21:14 Greenwich Mean Time 22 March

    Romania 1-1 Northern Ireland

Shea Charles is brought down by Nicolae Stanciu as he looked to drive forward and Northern Ireland have a free-kick in a promising position.

Conor Bradley is wasteful with the delivery however, as the chance to put the ball into the box goes begging.

  4. Postpublished at 21:11 Greenwich Mean Time 22 March

    Romania 1-1 Northern Ireland

Romania continue to find space down Northern Ireland's left hand side, but their final ball is letting them down in their search for a second goal.

  5. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 21:09 Greenwich Mean Time 22 March

    Romania 1-1 Northern Ireland

Changes for both sides as Florinel Coman and Alexandru Cicâldău go off to be replaced by Valentin Mihăilă and Darius Olaru for Romania.

Michael O'Neill brings to an end Paddy Lane's evening as Conor McMenamin comes on in his place.

Northern Ireland's best stuff is coming through the Conor Bradley-Shea Charles-Isaac Price triangle down the right.

Romania can see that and are piling pressure down the left, with Brodie Spencer and Paddy Lane having a busy night with just 10 international caps between them.

Food for thought for Michael O'Neill.

  7. 'NI going to sleep'published at 21:04 Greenwich Mean Time 22 March

    Romania 1-1 Northern Ireland

    John O'Neill
Former Northern Ireland defender on BBC Radio Ulster

Not only in this game, but in other previous games, the opening five to 10 minutes of the second half we go to sleep.

I think Michael needs to sort the problem down the left hand side, everything is coming down the left hand side.

Whether he brings a defensive player on, I think Paddy Lane is getting lost in the game.

  8. CLOSE!published at 21:01 Greenwich Mean Time 22 March

    Romania 1-1 Northern Ireland

Alexandru Cicâldău's shot from the edge off the area deflects off Conor Bradley and loops behind. Romania are starting to dominate proceedings.

  9. Postpublished at 20:59 Greenwich Mean Time 22 March

    Romania 1-1 Northern Ireland

Romania try to be inventive with their first corner kick of the game as the ball is floated out to the captain Nicolae Stanciu on the edge of the box, but he screws his volley over the crossbar.

The corner was awarded after Brodie Spencer was forced into a last ditch tackle to dispossess Dennis Man, who had got to the by-line.

  10. Postpublished at 20:54 Greenwich Mean Time 22 March

    Romania 1-1 Northern Ireland

An early involvement for Bailey Peacock-Farrell as he gathers a speculative long range effort from Răzvan Marin.

  11. KICK-OFFpublished at 20:53 Greenwich Mean Time 22 March

    Romania 1-1 Northern Ireland

George Puşcaş kicks off the second half for Romania. Will either side find a winner in this half?

  12. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 20:52 Greenwich Mean Time 22 March

    HT: Romania 1-1 Northern Ireland

A change between the sticks for Northern Ireland at the break as Bailey Peacock-Farrell replaces Conor Hazard.

Peacock-Farrell is sporting a mask as he recovers from a nasty facial injury sustained at the start of the month with his club.

For Romania, Deian Sorescu comes in for Vasile Mogoș.

  13. 'The goalkeeper has got to save that every time'published at 20:50 Greenwich Mean Time 22 March

    HT: Romania 1-1 Northern Ireland

    Keith Gillespie
Former Northern Ireland winger on BBC Radio Ulster

You always look when you concede goals, could we have prevented it?

Well of course we could have as the goalkeeper has got to save that every time.

  14. 'NI have set up beautifully on counter attack'published at 20:49 Greenwich Mean Time 22 March

    HT: Romania 1-1 Northern Ireland

    Jim Magilton
Former Northern Ireland midfielder on BBC Radio Ulster

Northern Ireland have set up beautifully in terms of playing on the counter attack.

An absolutely fantastic goal and something that they have obviously worked on and again, Conor Bradley is so important in that and he gives you that unbelievable energy and pace down that side.

  15. 'O'Neill must be really happy'published at 20:46 Greenwich Mean Time 22 March

    HT: Romania 1-1 Northern Ireland

    John O'Neill
Former Northern Ireland defender on BBC Radio Ulster

I have to say I'm delighted with that performance. The performance against Denmark and then tonight so far gives you that little bit of a lift to think maybe the good times are slowly coming back and if you think of the players who are not there, Michael O'Neill must be really happy.

If you were watching the game and didn't know which team was going to the Euros, you wouldn't be at all surprised if it was the team in green.

  17. Northern Ireland have 'held their own'published at 20:39 Greenwich Mean Time 22 March

    HT: Romania 1-1 Northern Ireland

    John O'Neill
Former Northern Ireland defender on BBC Radio Ulster

From our point of view, we just want to see the players getting more experience and not being embarrassed against what we thought was going to be a very good team, but they have held their own.

  18. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:37 Greenwich Mean Time 22 March

    Romania 1-1 Northern Ireland

We are all square at the break in Bucharest after a lively opening 45 minutes.

Jamie Reid marked his debut in style with a fine finish to give Northern Ireland an early lead before they were pegged back by Dennis Man's equaliser, which squirmed past Conor Hazard.

Northern Ireland have matched the hosts for large spells of the first half, and look dangerous every time they go forward.

Michael O'Neill will want more of the same in the second half in an attacking sense, but will hope his side tighten up defensively.

  19. Postpublished at 20:35 Greenwich Mean Time 22 March

    Romania 1-1 Northern Ireland

Brodie Spencer makes a super sliding tackle to prevent Vasile Mogoș from getting on the end of a long ball forward and finding the target.

Northern Ireland's centre backs were nowhere to be seen there as Mogoș ghosted inside.

  20. Postpublished at 20:33 Greenwich Mean Time 22 March

    Romania 1-1 Northern Ireland

The game is fizzling out as we approach half-time. Northern Ireland will be happy enough with the first half, with the soft goal they conceded the only blot on a decent showing.
