Defender Sophie Howard tells BBC Scotland: "I think we are disappointed not to get more but in the end it was a deserved point for both teams.

"I think we could have given the game away at the end but we showed great character to hold on, put bodies on the line and just disappointed not to get more.

"I think they are a very difficult team to play because they are so physical. We got the point, we move on do our analysis and go again on Tuesday.

"I think the majority of the game we had a lot of time on the ball but when they were countering it was very busy. Towards the end especially we had to defend the box often, I think we did that really well but it was a challenging part of the game.

"We really were creating chances but I think in the end our execution let us down. We had some spells of really good football but it was the final pass that let us down.

"You get the chance to go again in a couple of days. It is important now that we recover but we are ready to battle again."

Goalkeeper Sandy MacIver appeared to be on crutches at the end of the game there, hopefully it's just precautionary...

All in all an underwhelming night for Pedro Martinez Losa's side. This was their chance to pick up their first competitive win since October 2022 but they fell short.

While there were some decent opportunities for the Scots, they just weren't clinical enough and perhaps were lucky to get away with a clean sheet and a point.

Just over a minute of the five left to play as Scotland have a goal kick.

Sarah Ewens floats a nice cross into the box and the Serbia goalkeeper almost doesn't deal with it.

They eventually get it away though.

Scotland are slightly edging the possession stats at the moment, but they can't take advantage of it.

Erin Cuthbert finds Sophie Howard at the back post, but she gets her touch all wrong and sends it back across the goal.

Serbia go racing up the other end before being cut out by a swarm of lilac shirts.

Up the other end they go and Scotland win a corner.

Scotland get away with one yet again as Anastaija Ciric's low effort smashes into the side netting.

Ten minutes of normal time left to play in Serbia.

Feels like there could be some late action.

Scotland really are walking a tightrope at times.

A decent chance for Scotland as Erin Cuthbert leathers one goalwards. Her effort is tipped wide by Serbian goalkeeper Sara Cetinja and they win a corner.
