Luke: It's not over till the fat lady sings, but it does like it is now between Man City and Arsenal. Though City seem to be in the driving seat, I still think the Gunners will prevail.

Everton boss Sean Dyche, speaking to Sky Sports: "Very pleased with the reaction. This was a different game with the organisation and the belief in the organsiation. They're a good side, we know that. The commitment from us had to be there. The energy of the side and also the key moments.

"I thought [Dominic Calvert-Lewin] was outstanding tonight. We've been trying to get him back to where he needs to be and I thought he was outstanding. He gets a goal. He tried to get it over the line and I love that. The second one is a great header. No, I thought he was outstanding tonight.

"Jordan Pickford made some big saves in the first half. It's rare you stop these sides having chances so you need moments youself. It's hard to pick out one or two.

"We spoke about the desire and the energy of the team adn the physical side of the game. The lads did it on Sunday and they'll have to do it again. That's the challenege.

"We stayed focussed tonight and I asked if they could stay with us and they did. Sunday was massive and now it was a massively important derby game. For people like Seamus Coleman, he wears his heart on his sleeve and he's so happy.

"We should be on 41 points and the story's different. Three clean sheets in three home games. The challenge for the players is to go and do it again."

It's amazing. At this club you have moments where you look round at the end of the game and no one has left their seat. It is a massive win and Liverpool looked a bit shell-shocked. You very rarely say this about a Jurgen Klopp team, but Everton looked like they wanted it more.

Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, speaking to Sky Sports: "Thoroughly deserved. A massive win not for the rivalry, but in the league as we keep pushing - hard work pays off."

On matching Liverpool: "You have to to. You have to put the hard yards in and Dominic [Calvert-Lewin] was grafting up there on himself and gets rewarded with a goal."

On the league: "We cannot ease off we have to recover for Saturday for another big game. Delighted and it pushes us even further up the table now.

"I enjoyed it, the mental side takes it out of you and it's a great win for the fans and club."

Liverpool look absolutely tired and clueless. Even Klopp looks like he’s done now. Only Diaz can hold his head up tonight. The rest should be ashamed at going out with such a whimper.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, speaking to Sky Sports: "It was for the crowd a good game. Four goals and many chances we created.

"I think we played quite well, also creating many more chances. Many positives. But also negatives. Conceding two goals from give-aways. It's unacceptable.

"We want to play dynamic, attacking football. That is what we want to see. Since the winter we create lots of chances and also score a lot of chances."

On Bruno Fernandes: "He is really leading the team. I'm very happy with his performance."

On Casemiro playing at centre-back: "He's playing very good, we know he can play there.

"Two give-aways. It can't happen, it's unacceptable. We have to get it out of our game."

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag to BBC Match of the Day: "Many positives today. The resilience to fight back after losing two times. But also there were negatives. We gave it away, it can't happen, unacceptable, we have to learn from this.

"But I'm happy with the win and we need to move on."

On his side's reaction to falling behind: "Have you seen some panic? No, not at all, we were very composed. We kept making chances throughout the game."

Were the final 15 minutes his side at its best? "No, the 70 minutes at Wembley was much better. We can play very good in moments. It's not easy when there are many changes."

On Casemiro's performance: I think he's a very good centre-back, together with Harry [Maguire]. Very stable in and out of possession."

On Bruno Fernandes: "He's very consistent. At the moment he's in very good form.

"We are striving to progress the team. The number of goals we are scoring in this moment is a huge progress. If we have our back four back, then I'm sure we will be more consistent."

On players returning from injury: "Mason Mount, he will return I think."

FT: Man Utd 4-2 Sheffield Utd

    Manchester United

Manchester United goalscorer Bruno Fernandes: "We talk about clean sheets all the time and we want to keep them. Credit to Sheffield United.

"At the end we came back. We put ourselves in a position where it's tough to win games. But also it shows a bit of character.

"We also need to be aware that if we control the game like we did in the first half, we have to score our chances.

"We're scoring lots of goals. It's just about that compactness we need to have as a team.

"I'm really happy to score, but I want to win games more than score goals. It's part of my role also, to score goals. But the main thing for me is winning games.

"Lately we haven't won as many as we should have.

"It's part of the job. You can win eight or nine games in a row, and then as soon as you lose you know you will be criticised. Being a Manchester United player demands winning games."
