However, I can't help but worry that Scotland still need more in the final third - they can't keep relying on their defence to save the day...

It's all in the delivery from Erin Cuthbert, great pace on it.

Sophie Howard is such a threat in the air and it's a really strong header.

Lisa Evans wins a free-kick on the edge of the box. It's a decent enough delivery but once again no one is able to get on the end of it.

Slovakia go racing up the pitch and Tamara Moravkova lets one fly but her effort is waayyy over the bar.

Fiona Brown and Kirsty Smith are the pair to make way for those two. Can they provide the spark Scotland (and all of us watching) so desperately need?

Claire Emslie and Jamie-Lee Napier are getting instructions from Pedro Martinez Losa, looks like they'll be about to join us.

Scotland get forward once again. Erin Cuthbert is joined by Fiona Brown whose cross takes a nick off the Slovakia defender and is easily gathered by the keeper.

So close! Erin Cuthbert picks up the ball on the edge of the area and pings a low pass across the box but once again no one is there to get on the end of it.

Up the other end Kirsty Smith gets in a tangle with Laura Zemberyova in the box - no penalty says the ref.

An early free-kick is floated in by Fiona Brown but no one in blue can get a touch on it.

Slovakia attempt to go racing up the other end but the Scotland back line doing their job.

The visitors get things restarted.

The players are back out for the second half.

Any chance of some goals in this one?

I think Slovakia finished the stronger of the two sides but just before that I feel Scotland found more of an impetus to get forward.

The missing piece of the puzzle is in the final third and hopefully they improve on that in the second half.

Scotland are frustrated. The play has been far too slow to break down a team like this. They really need to up the tempo.
