A relatively quiet start to proceedings in the Scottish Championship, given what's at stake.

Dundee United manager Jim Goodwin says he's told his players they can win the league today, despite the slimmest of arithmetic chances keeping Raith Rovers in it.

"The hardest thing in football is to get over the line," he tells BBC Scotland. "Raith had a very good result last night [by beating Inverness].

"I said to players you'd rather go and win it - we have a chance to win the league today. I know it's not mathematically done, but the goal difference, I can't see [Raith making it up] being likely.

"We've never been thinking too far ahead of ourselves. The players are in a really good place just now.

"Hopefully, we can go and get it done in front of a really good home support."

  9. League 2 latestpublished at 14:56 British Summer Time 20 April

Stenhousemuir have won Scottish League 2 and Peterhead and Dumbarton will be in the promotion play-offs.

Spartans can join the Blue Toon and the Sons by beating Bonnyrigg Rose today.

All teams from Elgin City in sixth downwards are not yet safe from finishing bottom and entering the SPFL play-off final against either the Highland or Lowland League champions.

East Kilbride have won the Lowland League and one of Buckie Thistle, Brechin City and Fraserburgh will be confirmed as Highland League champions in today's no doubt thrilling last full day of fixtures.

  11. League 1 latestpublished at 14:54 British Summer Time 20 April

Falkirk are Scottish League 1 champions and Hamilton Academical are in the promotion play-offs. Edinburgh City will be relegated to League 2.

All that remains to be decided are the final two promotion play-off spots and the relegation play-off place.

Alloa Athletic can secure a promotion play-off place by beating Cove Rangers in the evening kick-off. Watch that game on BBC Alba, iPlayer and on the BBC Sport website and app.

One of Kelty Hearts, Queen of the South, Annan Athletic and Stirling Albion will be in the relegation play-off place but Kelty are all but safe - and not out of the running for the promotion play-off places.

    Dunfermline Athletic v Queen's Park (15:00)

With Arbroath already relegated and second-bottom Inverness Caledonian Thistle having lost last night, the only thing that can change in terms of positions at the foot of the Championship today is Queen's Park climbing above Inverness up to eighth - if they beat Dunfermline Athletic at East End Park.

Of course, there would still be two games to play.

    Partick Thistle v Airdrieonians (15:00)

Partick Thistle play Airdrieonians in Glasgow's west end and both teams are bidding to sew up the last two play-off places in the Scottish Championship, with second-placed Raith Rovers already assured at least a play-off place.

Should there be a winner at Firhill this afternoon, that team will be guaranteed a play-off berth. The loser can still be assured a play-off spot if both Dunfermline Athletic and Ayr United fail to win. A draw and both Thistle and Airdrie are in the play-offs.

On the drive up the M90 this afternoon, there was a van with a tangerine scarf lodged between each of the front windows.

It seems some are already in party mode, despite the fact Dundee United cannot officially be crowned champions today.

There's a job to do first, and Scott Brown's Ayr United arrive in the mood to spoil the celebrations.
