Felipe Massa's third place was a hugely popular result for the home fans. It almost went wrong, when the Brazilian was penalised for speeding in the pit-lane, but his strong pace, which he has showed all weekend, was enough to seal third. That's his second podium of the season and fifth in Brazil.

The teams are busy packing up their freight, which will go straight to Abu Dhabi for the season finale, which takes place in two weeks' time.

Meanwhile, over at Sauber, the drivers and key engineers are in their post-race debrief. There aren't many happy faces in there. Just one race left for the team to avoid ending the season without a single point.

"I locked the rear and went wide. No-one's mistake but mine. It was a great race pushing right to the finish, which is what motor racing's all about."

Both Kimi Raikkonen and Fernando Alonso say that their Ferrari team did not enforce team orders when they were battling for sixth place. Alonso, who was on fresher tyres having made one more stop, was much quicker, but Raikkonen was able to keep the Spaniard behind for several laps before his defence was eventually broken.
