What a start from Lewis Hamilton! The Briton powers away from P2 to take the lead into Turn One! Nico Rosberg fends of Felipe Massa to hold on to second, but are his title chances over already?
One light, two lights, three lights, four lights, five lights! The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is go, go, go!

BBC F1 pit-lane reporter
"I'm in a very special place, the back of the Mercedes garage and it is very tense. There are no words being said."
Nico Rosberg leads Lewis Hamilton round on the formation lap, with Valtteri Bottas in third and Felipe Massa fourth. Meanwhile, Daniel Ricciardo leaves the garage to take up his place at the end of the pit-lane for the start. Sebastian Vettel will follow him out shortly.

"Nico Rosberg has never won back-to-back races."

"It's amazing to see the number of people that have flown over from the UK to Abu Dhabi for some winter sun. These night races really do work."

"They key could be that Lewis Hamilton has been in this situation three times before going into the last race. That could be the only difference. This is the first time Nico Rosberg's experienced this media intensity going into the last race."
Helmets on. Visors down. The time for talking is over. Lewis Hamilton v Nico Rosberg. Your time is now.
Eddie Jordan
BBC F1 chief analyst
"Only the gods know what will happen. I still believe Hamilton will win the championship but I don't think he will win the race. I don't think he needs to or wants to."
"It's not great to start from the pit-lane but hopefully we've left all the greatness for the race," says Sebastian Vettel who is in his last race for Red Bull. "I hope to win - but that might be asking too much."

"It is intense," says former Ferrari driver Jean Alesi. "It is unique. Hamilton has more points but today is like the Olympic games - they have to give the maximum possible."
Mercedes:, external Garage getting busy! Welcome Nicole Scherzinger!
Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker:, external "Hope Lewis Hamilton does it. Would be a travesty if double points does for him. Imagine the last day of the PL season decided that way."
Lady Jane:, external I can't believe how nervous I am about the start of this GP! A sigh of relief will be breathed if #LH44 gets through the 1st corner.
Natalie Hoffman:, external I'm shaking with excitement!!!! Arrrghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
It's an interesting point that Alain Prost makes. Will Nico Rosberg try to back Mercedes team-mate Lewis Hamilton into the Williams of Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa? Victory for Rosberg won't be enough if Hamilton is second. So that might be his only chance today. Oh the tension.
"There is more pressure on Lewis as he has everything to lose," says four-time time world champion Alain Prost. "If I was in Nico's position I would have two strategies: see what happens or slow down a bit. You never know, we will see what's in his head. I normally never did slow down in this situation but thought a lot about it. Everything is different with double points."
"This is the biggest race we've had for some time," says Williams deputy team principal Claire Williams, whose team are closing on an impressive third in the constructors' championship. "We need to beat the Ferraris into P3. A lot of people are saying we can win this race. It will be a magic end to a magic year."
"I'm not expecting too much at the start as I'm on prime," says McLaren's Kevin Magnussen, who starts ninth. "I'm fairly positive even though we did not have our best qualifying. I'm hoping to finish strongly at the end. It could be a fun race."
