    Nico Rosberg is attempting to join Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel as the only world champions from Germany. Before 1994, German drivers had won just five races in championship history, but since then, they have won 145 more as well as 11 titles. Rosberg's victory in Brazil was the 150th for a German driver, 25 years to the day since the fall of the Berlin Wall.

    Britain was guaranteed a world champion in 1964 when John Surtees, Jim Clark and Graham Hill arrived at the Mexican Grand Prix with a chance of winning. Hill led the championship, but saw his hopes end with a collision. Clark dropped out with an engine issue leaving Surtees to finish second and become the first man to win titles on two wheels and four following his world motorcycling championship wins in 1956, 1958, 1959 and 1960.

    Lewis Hamilton will become only the 16th driver in the history of the sport to win more than one Formula 1 World Championship if he finishes first or second today's Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. He will become only the fourth Briton to achieve the feat, too, following Sir Jackie Stewart, Graham Hill and Jim Clark.
