This is from the FAI press release and it describes how the knockout qualification proposed for this year would work:

    Q1

    16 minutes

After 7 minutes, slowest driver eliminated

Slowest driver eliminated every 1 minute 30 seconds thereafter until the chequered flag

    7 drivers eliminated, 15 progress to Q2

    Q2

    15 minutes

After 6 minutes, slowest driver eliminated

Slowest driver eliminated every 1 minute 30 seconds thereafter until the chequered flag

    7 drivers eliminated, 8 progress to Q3

    Q3

    14 minutes

After 5 minutes, slowest driver eliminated

Slowest driver eliminated every 1 minute 30 seconds thereafter until the chequered flag

2 drivers left in final 1 minute 30 seconds

    - The final elimination in each session occurs at the chequered flag – not when time is up.

Welcome to the big leagues Rio.

No news yet on whether his departure from the tarmac was mechanical, but you're not a real F1 driver until your car has been on the back of a recovery vehicle.

On another note. Have I mentioned how lovely the Manor looks? I think it's lush.

The laps aren't officially listed with them, Jason.

But just by looking, most have been on the mediums.

Daniil Kvyat has had a run on the super softs, Jenson on the softs and Felipe Nasr, randomly, had a run on the wets - I think.
