What should be on our list of #ThingsAlmostAsAwesomeAsKimi ?

I shall name him Captain Woofington. He's on the list.

The tea is great. But how hard are you going al fresco in mid-February?

I'd have nipples like toothbrush bristles.

    Does it star Paul Rudd?

I've checked the data. I can confirm that Kimi Raikkonen has completed one lap.

    This is terribly exciting.

An aperitif before the main meal in the afternoon?

  6. Kimi is out!published at 11:16 Greenwich Mean Time 24 February 2016

    Now he's not...

"Kimi Raikkonen headed out at 12:12 local time (11:12 GMT), did one lap and pitted."

I'm sure you're aware that there are only 304 days left until Christmas.

What better way to get into the festive spirit than to watch Kimi Raikkonen singing We Wish You A Merry Christmas and playing a triangle.

    Yes, he's playing a triangle.

    See it here., external

    You're welcome.

Have I mentioned Felipe Nasr today?

Apologies if I haven't, but it's just so difficult to mention everyone when you've only got 10 HOURS OF LIVE TEXTING TO FILL.

He's actually completed 40 laps, has Nasr, and is in P5. Only Nico Rosberg and Kevin Magnussen have been round more times.

Kimi Raikkonen may not be on the track yet, but that doesn't mean we can't keep adding to our list of #ThingsAlmostAsAwesomeAsKimi.

    Get to it.

I've seen half of this film. One day I shall watch the other half.

Brown sauce. Correct choice. You're on the list.

Hmmm. Kind of funny when you're a kid though and the teacher can't get stuff to work.

It's all gone a bit quiet in Barcelona. Not a peep from any of the teams for a while.

    Top three at the moment:

    Hulkenberg 1:25.286 (29 laps)

    Rosberg 1:26.084 (45 laps)

    Sainz 1:26.474 (35 laps)

“For Britain’s Jolyon Palmer, it has been a difficult first two days of preparation for his maiden grand prix season. After being restricted to 36 laps on Monday because of software issues, a promising day on Tuesday was curtailed by an engine failure - and now Palmer hands over to team-mate Kevin Magnussen for the remainder of the test.

"‘We at least had the car running and could do some baseline set-up work,’ he said. 'Seventy-nine laps is not ideal for half my pre-season testing so I need a lot more next week. That’s how it is. Change of power-unit. New team effectively. These things are bound to happen.’

"No-one at Renault is under any illusions that this season will be tough, after their late takeover of a Lotus team that had been starved of resources by its former owners. Just how difficult it will be is beginning to come into focus.”

Just the nine laps so far from Rio Haryanto, but he can now call himself a track-tested F1 driver.

He's also gone quicker than Daniil Kvyat in the Red Bull so, you know...

"I was in front of the Ferrari garage at 11:07 local time (10:07 GMT), and heard the Ferrari engine running behind the screens and closed doors. Does this mean Kimi Raikkonen will be able to get out on the track soon?"

  18. More on the 'halo' safety systempublished at 10:09 Greenwich Mean Time 24 February 2016

    Andrew Benson
    Chief F1 writer

“So, the halo. Driver egress first. Obviously, it would be in the way of the driver getting out, but teams and the FIA are working on ways to solve that - and fire is not the issue that it was with the increase in safety of fuel tanks and monocoques and so on. As for its alleged flimsiness, the FIA has conducted lots of tests, and the drivers and the teams have seen the results and they are clearly not going to put something on a car if they don’t think it will do the job it is intended for. If they all feel that it will a) make a difference; b) is the best solution; and c) it is time to introduce it, it would be wise to trust them.”
