Back in May 1966, Bruce McLaren climbed inside his M2B as McLaren made their F1 debut.

Since then, they've participated in 790 further race weekends, amassed 182 wins, claimed eight constructors' world titles and 12 drivers' championships.

Nico Rosberg, Monaco resident, is the man to beat here. He's going for his fourth straight victory at this circuit, something only Ayrton Senna has managed before.

Sebastian Vettel came out on top in final practice this morning, finishing just 0.018s quicker than Lewis Hamilton.

In fact, there was very little between the top four with Nico Rosberg third and Daniel Ricciardo fourth, 0.157s behind Vettel.

In Monaco, however, it's not all about the pace because on these tight and twisty streets, there can be no room for error.

Hello and welcome back for build-up to Monaco Grand Prix qualifying.

If practice is anything to go by, then we could be in for a thrilling session, with little between Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull.

Could we, for the first time this season, be about to see something other than a Silver Arrow on pole position?

Don't be so cynical Robin! The race may not always live up to expectation, but there's certainly plenty to be excited for in qualifying.

Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull have all had their time at the top so far, and there's almost nothing between them in final practice - just 0.157 separating the top four.

Will the battle for pole position prove just as close? We'll find out in a couple of hours. We're just going to take a short break. Here's Andrew Benson's final practice report and join us again for build up at 12:00 BST.
