Max Verstappen sounds glum as can be as he tells his team that he is OK.

Just catching a replay of his crash now and he touched the barrier at the first part of the chicane, breaking his front suspension and sending him careering over the sausage kerb and into the wall.

Verstappen has hit the wall right in front of our commentary position here at the swimming pool section! He is feeling total disappointment and frustration. It's slight inexperience, nothing more than that. It's not going to dent his career or his season.

The teenager was flying through the Swimming Pool section and bounces over the kerbs. He can't keep control and is straight into the wall. Heavy damage to his front wing, and the youngster's pride. He was pushing too hard there.

Mercedes made a set up change yesterday. They made the car a little more "oversteery" according to the engineers.

Red Bull, fashionably late, decide to join the action. Meanwhile, Sebastian Vettel goes third quickest with 1:15.250, almost half a second down on Lewis Hamilton's time.

I think the person who gets pole position at the end of qualifying, will be the person who makes the least amount of mistakes

We were treated to a view from the Sauber as it was hoisted into the air, swinging back and forth.

It was like being on the pirate ship at Alton Towers.
