It is fair to say these two were not appropriately dressed for that earlier downpour but it's OK, they've got a change of clothes back at their tent.

"We've got a Batman costume with us," says Alan, who is here watching the race with his son Ollie.

They were cheering on Lewis Hamilton, by the way.

  2. Rosberg under investigationpublished at 14:31 British Summer Time 10 July 2016

    Lap 50/52

As I say that, we hear that Nico Rosberg is under investigation for being given instructions by his team.

From what I gather, engineer instructions are allowed if the car is about to have an imminent failure. Was Nico's car about to fail? Who knows?

Nico tells his team he has a gearbox problem.

"Chassis default zero one!" comes the reply.

    Is that like Ctr+Alt+Delete?

Mercedes suggest that he skips seventh gear from now on.

Kimi Raikkonen really wants fifth place. He shadows Perez through Becketts but can't find the pace to go past at Stowe.

Hmm. Rosberg snipped a few tenths off the lead on that lap. With seven laps left, does he have enough time to get close to Hamilton?

    Lap 45/52

Nico Rosberg looks like he might be taking a bit off Lewis Hamilton's lad - the German sets the quickest lap. The gap dips below six seconds, marginally.

Now if Nico Rosberg comes in he will drop to fourth place so I'm sure he will try to eke it out.

Kimi Raikkonen is eyeing up fifth place and is within 1.5secs of Sergio Perez. It would be a decent way to celebrate a new Ferrari contract.

    Germans love penalties, don't they?

Sebastian Vettel has been given a five-second penalty for forcing Felipe Massa wide.

He can take it at a pit-stop or add it to his race time. As it stands, he would drop from P9 to P11 with that penalty.

Kvyat and Button would be the two to benefit.
