Sebastian Vettel completes 12 laps on super softs and tells his Ferrari team he's feeling vibrations. He comes into swap for a quartet of softies.

Managing these quick, soft compounds looks like it could become a theme of the weekend.

Max Verstappen tells his Red Bull team he loses power when he goes across the start-finish line. An odd one that.

His team tell him to grit his teeth and carry on.

Lewis Hamilton gives some tyre feedback to his team: "I have no more grip left on these tyres."

Those medium compounds are 19 laps old, which will give him an idea of how long he can go on them in the race.

Hamilton is down in P13 by the way.

Bottas is told his rear casing temperatures are way over the limits.

What's a rear casing? Allan McNich tells it's the inside of the tyre, essentially.

Valtteri replies with "you need to speak up".

Always a bit concerning when you can't hear someone tell you that your tyres are too hot.

If you had just landed from space and looked at the current leaderboard, you'd be forgiven for thinking that F1 is unpredictable.

VES, RIC, HUL, VET, PER is the current top five with half an hour ago. No Rosberg or Hamilton in there - when will they go for their qualifying simulations?

Get this. Jenson Button's McLaren is up in ninth.

The Briton asks his team how many other drivers are yet to go out on the super softs, as if he's surprised to be so high.

Most drivers have used the super softs, so you're setting genuinely decent pace Jenson.

Now. Daniel Ricciardo looks the quickest driver out there and he's confirmed that with a leading time of 1:48.341 on the super softs. With his work done, the Red Bull slides into the pits.

That makes way for Max Verstappen to try and topple his team-mate - and he does it, going 0.256secs quicker.

That brings up a massive cheer from the Belgian-Dutch contingent at Spa.

The force is strong with Force India - Nico Hulkenberg goes quickest with a 1:48.657, almost half a second quicker than his team-mate Sergio Perez.

Those pair have been whizzing around on the super softs, so don't read too much into it.

Then it's the Red Bull of Daniel Ricciardo and the Mercedes of Nico Rosberg.

    Red Bull have dialed in.

Spaniel.. I mean Daniel Ricciardo goes quickest - 1:49.133 and team-mate Max Verstappen is just 0.330secs behind.

Lewis Hamilton, now in the pits, is third. Nico Rosberg is out and looking quick.
