Max Verstappen has become the youngest driver to start a race on the front row, at the age of 18 years and 331 days.

The previous youngest was Ricardo Rodríguez, who qualified second in a guest drive for Ferrari at the 1961 Italian Grand Prix aged 19 years and 208 days.

Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel, who qualified fourth, on Sky Sports: "It's supposed to be cooler tomorrow, but it's been hot all weekend.

"I think we can win this race. It will be key to look after the tyres, we need to be smart with our strategy and go from there."

Kimi Raikkonen after qualifying third: "In the second run it went pretty well. I lost two 10ths in the last chicane, the pole was there. Tomorrow is the race and I think we have to be satisfied."

Nico Rosberg after qualifying on pole for the Belgian Grand Prix: "We had a difficult weekend up to now, especially this morning. We got the job done, having made some changes to the car before qualifying. I'm pleased.

"I'm happy to be on pole, the tyres are going to be difficult, though. There will be a lot going on."

    Something worth noting then.

Max Verstappen's fastest lap in Q2 was set on super-soft tyres. All of his rivals set theirs on softs.

The cars must start the race on those tyres, meaning Verstappen will have to pit earlier than everyone else, as the super-softs wear quicker.

Jenson Button, who qualified ninth, on Sky Sports:"That was as good as it was going to get.

"I always love Spa, hopefully tomorrow we can have a decent race.

"We'd all rather have pace than reliability, we did not expect to come here and be in P9.

"It's good progress so we're happy. In Q2 that was one of the best laps that I've done."

That was a very strong run from Nico Rosberg.

Max has to get off the line well, he'll be pitting earlier.

Daniel Ricciardo will be frustrated I think, but having qualified behind the Ferraris he will have his work cut out.
