It looks like Ocon just went straight on at the first turn and he's lost an opportunity to make an impression in his second ever GP weekend.
Nico Rosberg goes quickest with a 1:22.497.
But that is immediately blown out of the water as Lewis Hamilton goes 0.643secs quicker.
Eleven minutes left and there's a yellow flag in sector one... it's Esteban Ocon who has come off.
Out come the big boys - Hamilton, Rosberg, Vettel, Alonso. All of them on the super-soft tyres apart from Vettel, who's got softs. I hope that confidence is not mis-placed.
Kevin Magnussen is the first man with a time - 1:25.047. He makes a mistake though so it's not great. Team-mate Jolyon Palmer goes quicker until Esteban Gutierrez strolls in to take top spot.

There has been a bit of confusion in the last few minutes about Sergio Perez. This is the situation, which has not changed. He has a contract with Force India for next year and has had all season.
Force India have been insisting for some months now that the Mexican will continue with them as per this contract - as chief operating officer Otmar Szafnauer said on 5 live in final practice.
However, he is shopping himself around other teams, especially Williams and Renault. Williams are likely to partner Valtteri Bottas with Canadian Formula Three driver Lance Stroll, as we wrote earlier, but no final decision has yet been taken. Renault’s situation is fluid.
Perez may well end up staying with Force India. But it is not certain yet.
Palmer, Magnussen, Kvyat are out on super-softs. Wehrlein has some medium tyres, interestingly.
Q1 is under way - 18 minutes to avoid being one of the six cars eliminated.

Here in Monza once you get that break early on in the race it can be so difficult for people to get past you.
If you see a Ferrari floating down the Lombra through Il parco di Monza, don't be fooled. It's probably not a real Ferrari and in fact a Ferrari with a man swimming underneath it.
You can't fool me, crazy Ferrari hat guy.

FknMayhemL: Not sure I care enough about Verstappen. He tones it down & we see a possibly awesome career or we see Sainz at Red Bull sooner or later. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Rodsta: Senna & Schumi would push you, your mum and your gran off the cliff before losing. Keep going Max
Omnipotent One: He does need to be a tad more careful from time to time, but being passive doesn't win races! He needs a little more experience
Lewis is ready for qualifying. Are you?
Eight minutes to go.

Maxstappen doing his best Hulk Hogan impression here...

Dean Smith: Leave #Verstappen alone let's get back to the good old days of exciting edge of your seat racing
Stuart Baddeley: Verstappen - be yourself and drive and learn ... let's see racing ... if others don't like it, they can earn their $mill elsewhere
Richard Wright: As regards Max V do we have to wait until someone is buried before anything is done
On a side note, looking at that picture of Uncle Bernie, it's just occurred to me he looks a lot like my wife's grandma.
Wonderful woman.

It seems a change of ownership of Formula 1 could be on the cards. American media company Liberty Media is said to be close to finalising a deal that will initially be a minority buy-in to Formula 1, ahead of a planned takeover some way down the line.
F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone has told Germany’s Auto Motor Und Sport that the first sale will happen next week, but sources close to the situation say that there is still a lot to sort out for that to be the case.
There have been so many supposed buy-ins over the last few years that have come to nothing that there is inevitably scepticism in the paddock, but senior insiders say this one does seem to be serious.
David Croft, formerly of the BBC parish, is reporting that Sergio Perez has signed a new Force India contract.
The team's COO Otmar Szafnauer was adamant Perez would be their driver next year when 5 live spoke to him earlier.
Mercedes boss Toto Wolff spoke to Sky Sports about his team's final practice performance.
"We have a gap. We are looking very good. We have maybe not seen the full power mode on the Ferrari but it looks good. There is still a little bit to come from us."
