All Red Bull hopes now on Max Verstappen, who is currently fifth but on faster tyres than those ahead of him.
Sebastian Vettel is retaining his six-second lead over Lewis Hamilton.

Mercedes are saying that Lewis Hamilton's tyres were dropping off and Sebastian Vettel was 'in under-cut range'. But it still seemed quite a gamble of a stop when you are leading the Grand Prix...

There will be questions about Mercedes’ decision to stop Lewis Hamilton relatively early. But it seems they had no choice. They say Hamilton’s tyres were dropping off and Sebastian Vettel was in under-cut range. So the risk in staying out was that Ferrari would see the drop in pace and stop earlier and get the lead anyway. Caught between the devil and the deep blue sea, effectively.

Fernando Alonso has been extraordinary. McLaren did not manage to do more than 11 successive laps or so before this weekend, but the Spaniard has managed to keep this show on the road despite that lack of running time.
They will be doing back-flips in the McLaren garage if he can manage to pick up some points this weekend.
Meanwhile, Fernando Alonso is in the points. He's currently 10th.
The Spaniard is absolutely doing the best with what he has at his disposal.
Oh no! Daniel Ricciardo has come to a stop just off the track at Turn Three. There's smoke coming out of his car.
"Sorry mate, cars done," Ricciardo is told.
Disaster for the Australian. What a horrible weekend he's had.

This situation is exactly the sort of thing that calls for a Plan B for Mercedes.

I think that Ferrari are going to be feeling pretty confident about how this is shaping up...
Kimi Raikkonen pits after a brief spell in the lead so Sebastian Vettel leads the race ahead of Lewis Hamilton with the gap six seconds.
"We're thinking plan B now Lewis," Hamilton is told.
Sounds like a two stop is on the cards.

I think that Ferrari made that pit-stop earlier than needed. Their man was still lapping quicker than Hamilton and, presuming a puncture had not shown up on the screens, they could have given themselves more leeway.
It paid off in the end though.
Lewis Hamilton is complaining about a lack of grip. Big concern as you would imagine he should be able to go to the end of the race on the softs. A two-stopper for the Mercedes?
Meanwhile, Max Verstappen has come back out with supersofts on the Red Bull. It's racey Max time.

That was absolutely critical for Vettel. The Ferrari mechanics had to deliver a perfect pit stop to get their man back out ahead of Max Verstappen and keep that buffer to Lewis Hamilton.
There is a gap of 3.2 seconds between Vettel and Hamilton on the track.
Marcus Ericsson pulls up on the side of the track and we have another retirement.
Valtteri Bottas pits from the lead, as does Max Verstappen, so Lewis Hamilton has some welcome clear air ahead of him.

That could be the race defining stop for Sebastian Vettel...
Softs are slapped on the Ferrari and back out goes Sebastian Vettel... AHEAD OF LEWIS HAMILTON AND MAX VERSTAPPEN
Big stop. With current race leader Valtteri Bottas and Kimi Raikkonen still to stop, Vettel effectively leads this race.
Now Sebastian Vettel pits...
