He's damaged the nose, and damaged the rear and Palmer will now be out, and these are things that happen when you're pushing.
Jolyon Palmer went trundling over the sausage and took off, flew into the gravel before ending up spinning into the barrier.
Actually looks like Pascal Wehrlein just managed to avoid hitting the wall. He lost the rear end as he took a corner and spun.
Out comes the flag and there's two cars into the wall! Jolyon Palmer and Pascal Wehrlein are both pushing, too hard it seems as they end up in the tyre wall.

Kvyat and Palmer need to pull something out of the bag with a minute remaining and won't get another shot at this.
Romain Grosjean has his customary grumble about some such issue with his Haas. He's bottom of the order at the moment.
Nervous times for the Russian fans as home favourite Daniil Kvyat is dropping down towards the elimination zone. He is currently 14th, with Jolyon Palmer 15th and right on the bubble.

It is a circuit Williams have done well at and they are slightly off last year's pace at the moment but still expecting a good performance.
Valtteri Bottas, Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen all pit. They are safely into Q2.
McLaren need an improvement if they are to get through to the next part of qualifying. They are currently getting prepped for one final stab at avoiding an early exit.
Lewis Hamilton puts it together on his next run and goes second quickest with 1:34.409, four tenths down on his team-mate Valtteri Bottas.
Everyone has done a timed lap now so the drivers in danger of being eliminated are:
16) Alonso 17) Vandoorne 18) Wehrlein 19) Grosjean 20) Ericsson
Sophie Maton: Quali...quali..quali..who's it going to be? Mercedes or Ferrari?
Charles A: This is one of those modern tracks you eventually grow to like I think
Kevin Kelly: Morning guys, from the only F1 fan in Arkansas!
Valtteri Bottas lowers the benchmark with a 1:34.177. Sebastian Vettel, on supersofts, goes P2, a second down on Bottas.
A scruffy lap by Lewis Hamilton as he gets the Mercedes out of shape coming out of Turn 8. The Briton is yet to set a lap time.
Eight minutes to go in Q1.

Track temperature has gone up and is a big factor on how the tyres will work but it is definitely a swing in favour of Ferrari.
The times are coming down now as Max Verstappen moves to the top of the order with a 1:36.021.
Fernando Alonso's first time is a 1:37.026, putting him third quickest. Expect times to tumble on their second runs on the ultrasofts.
