With all this chat about Ayrton Senna and his bungalow it would be remiss of me to not post this fine picture of the man himself in said abode adjusting his weights.

It is like Noah's Ark. All the cars have pretty much gone two-by-two. It is Mercedes from Ferrari from Red Bull which is what it has been all year. Is there any change at the front? Of course it is very early in the weekend but it doesn't look like there is a great change.

Anyone for tennis? Fernando Alonso apparently. He has just posted this picture on Instagram with the caption: "Keeping the body active".

Josephat Okora: Fernando Alonso has decided to go back to his hotel. I would have given up by now. What has Honda been doing?

Yellow flags in sectors one and two. Kevin Magnussen has pulled off the track at Turn 4 and come to a stop. He's pressing a few buttons in the hope of restarting to the Haas but no joy. His session is over with seven minutes to go.

It is very unusual. I think he is going to look at what is going on at the Indy road car event. He is flying out by private jet at 7pm on Sunday. There is not an awful lot to keep his interest here.

Interesting and unusual. Fernando Alonso has decided not to hang around for the rest of first practice. He's gone back to his hotel.

A quick search suggests this is Ayrton Senna Road. Never been myself.

Anyway, 10 minutes to go in the session. Lewis Hamilton looks set to finish the first practice session quickest.

Fernando Alonso got to the third corner of his out-lap before his session was over. Stoffel Vandoorne has fared a bit better, but not much. He's done just four laps but is back out on the track now, mediums on his McLaren. Everyone is out on the mediums now.

Alex Finnan: Listening in Stoke - nuff said really

Daniel Burns: Listening from Borehamwood also known as Boringwood!

We're discussing boring places to be following the F1 from. I've never been to Medvecke but based on this picture, I'll allow it.

Kimi Raikkonen, on mediums, slides off the track at Turn 13, scuppering what looked like a quick lap.No errors during his next effort as a 1:22.456 lifts the Finn up to third.

Speaking of Kimi I was disappointed, nay disgusted, to see that he didn't fare better in our 'who is the greatest Finnish F1 driver' vote.

That is certainly something Kimi would not find OK., external
