Hang on! Last-second drama as Max Verstappen skids off the track and into the gravel. Not sure what happened there.
Yellow flags!
Romain Grosjean has come to a stop on the track.
That's it for qualifying, a very anti-climatic end.

Ironically, The Red Bull Ring it's not Red Bull's strongest circuit. They have improved here over the years but it doesn't seem to suit this car.
They are in a position they are going to qualify in 5th or 6th. It will take a pretty blinding lap from Daniel Ricciardo to get 4th.
Everyone is coming out of the pits now.
The battle for pole position is well and truly under way.

Max Verstappen hopes to get an improved time in with a clear track as he heads out before anyone else. He does improve, but not enough to lift him off sixth.

Kimi's race engineer: "Yep, sorry. My mistake".
Classic Kimi. At least he had his steering wheel this time, you don't want to hear him when he hasn't got one.
Actually you do, listen here., external
Ding ding! Round one goes to Valtteri Bottas. The first lot of timed laps sees the Finn top of the timesheet with 1:04.251.
Sebastian Vettel is second (+0.042) with Lewis Hamilton third (0.173), Kimi Raikkonen fourth (0.528), Daniel Ricciardo fifth (+0.746) and Max Verstappen sixth (+0.8).
Max Verstappen leads Daniel Ricciardo, Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton out onto the track.
Here we go then. The battle for pole position is under way.
Max Verstappen is keen. He's waiting patiently at the pitlane exit for the light to go green. Still about 40 seconds to go, though.
Maybe he just wants to soak up all that applause from the large amount of fans he has here. It's like a home race for him.

Re McLaren, of course Vandoorne has the upgraded engine, which is worth in the region of 0.15secs.
Confirmation, then, that Lewis Hamilton will start the race on super-soft tyres.
Meanwhile, a very good session for Romain Grosjean as he gets into the top 10 shootout.
Kevin Magnussen's suspension issue aside, Haas have looked good in Austria. Explains the lack of moaning from Grosjean...

Both McLarens out in Q2 but definite improvements from Vandoorne, 0.135secs off Alonso. "Getting there," he says.
