Jotnar: This guy is so boring - can't believe any team wants him. Kills the sport with his boring personality as driving.
Tim64: Never really any other option for him was there? After all, he was never going to join Mercedes where he would have to compete against a team-mate.

Vettel's decision is likely to be followed by confirmation from Mercedes that it will retain Valtteri Bottas for at least another season alongside Hamilton.
The Finn was signed on a one-year deal to replace world champion Nico Rosberg after the German retired from F1 after winning the title last year.
Hamilton is contracted to Mercedes until the end of 2018.

In Ferrari's time-honoured style, the statement on Sebastian Vettel signing a new deal contained no quotes or further information from the driver or the team.
Ferrari announced earlier this week that it had retained Vettel's team-mate Kimi Raikkonen for one more season.
Vettel had made it clear his preference was for the Finn to stay.
Steve: Would this mean Mercedes now chase Alonso or stick with Bottas? I would stick with same.
Sebastian Vettel underlines his commitment to Ferrari by signing a three-year deal.
Interestingly, Niki Lauda has apparently said Mercedes were talking to Vettel as recently as June.

Somewhat ironic that on the weekend the paddock catches fire with rumours about Alonso and Williams, the team are having a shocker.
Williams have not put it together at all so far this weekend. Felipe Massa is down in 16th, with Lance Stroll 15th. They have had such a Jekyll and Hyde season.
Carlos Sainz, the last man to do an ultra-soft run, goes up to ninth with a 1:45.942.
Ray: Alonso and Kubica as teammates at Renault next season would steal the show.
Good work by the Sauber mechanics as they get Marcus Ericsson back out on the track. He has four minutes to learn as much as he can ahead of qualifying.
Five minutes remaining in final practice and Stoffel Vandoorne heads out for a late-doors qualifying simulation run. His lap on the ultra-softs moves him up to 12th, three tenths slower than his McLaren team-mate Fernando Alonso.
