The McLaren of Stoffel Vandoorne, who is yet to stop, has been having a little duel with the Ocon-Raikkonen-Stroll train.

The first two dealt with the McLaren through Curva Grande. Stroll gets the job done on the start-finish straight.

Sho Rahman: Really surprised by how slow Ocon is. Thought he could get a podium today.

Keith Oswin: Verstappen/Massa is what happens when you give stupid grid pens and put quick guys out of position

Callum Hayes: Looks like this is Lewis' for the taking, Valterri just needs to protect when needed, bring it home for a 1-2 and take points off Seb.

  6. Scare for Hamiltonpublished at 13:32 British Summer Time 3 September 2017

Lewis Hamilton looks in control of this race but we've just had a little reminder of how hard he is having to push as he runs wide out of the second chicane and kicks up a goodly amount of gravel.

No major drama, though, and on he goes.

    His lead is 4.6s.

  7. Penalty for Palmerpublished at 13:31 British Summer Time 3 September 2017

Five second time penalty for Renault's Jolyon Palmer for cutting the second chicane earlier.

  8. Poor stop for Strollpublished at 13:30 British Summer Time 3 September 2017

Stroll pits from P4 but it's not a good one for the normally superb Williams team.

The Candian rookie loses time and he emerges behind Raikkonen. Frustration at Williams.

Palmer is under investigation for that earlier off-track moment.

  10. Postpublished at 13:27 British Summer Time 3 September 2017

Ocon now pits from P4. He emerges in 10th place but crucially ahead of Raikkonen.

  11. Team radiopublished at 13:26 British Summer Time 3 September 2017

Fernando Alonso: "These up-shifts are killing the race!"

McLaren: "Understood Fernando - we will have a look at see if there is anything we can do."

Alonso: "I am sorry but there has to be something we can do."

  12. Postpublished at 13:26 British Summer Time 3 September 2017

Raikkonen pits from P6 on at the end of lap 15.

Looking to undercut the Force India and Williams ahead?

    It's a slow stop though. 3.7s stationary.

  13. Postpublished at 13:25 British Summer Time 3 September 2017

Jolyon Palmer's Renault cuts the second chicane as he dices with the McLaren of Fernando Alonso, who is straight on the radio to ask for the Briton to give him the place back.

Raikkonen has been complaining about the problem with the rear end of his Ferrari. He's certainly not able to do much about Lance Stroll and Esteban Ocon ahead of him.

    Nico Hulkenberg: *mumbles something inaudible*

Renault pitwall: "Your radio is still on, Nico."

    Nico: "WHAT?"

Pitwall: "YOUR RADIO IS STILL ON!"

That is the F1 equivalent of a "butt dial"....

Further back, Daniel Ricciardo is the one to watch because he is on the soft tyres - he will be able to stay out a lot longer than the rest of the field.

For him, certainly a top six is on the cards - something he wouldn't have thought possible when he started the race in 16th.

It's all gone a bit calmer now after that busy start. Front runners are settling into position. The battle to watch at the moment is Lance Stroll closing on the rear of Esteban Ocon for P4.
