And Carlos Sainz goes quickest of all with a 1:33.172 - a full second quicker than Baltter Bottas.
Just over two minutes remaining. The time is now for those late doors ultra softs runs. Sebastian Vettel is also having the purple-walled tyres bolted on.

No-one yet emerging on dry tyres, despite Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton having ultrasofts popped onto their respective cars.

Fernando Alonso going out maybe looking for a shot of glory in the final few minutes.
Tyre blankets off and, despite feeling the conditions were dry enough to ditch the inters 20 minutes ago, Fernando Alonso heads back out on that compound again.
Just over 10 minutes to go and it's pretty quiet on the track with Stoffel Vandoorne one of the few still out there.
No-one yet making the switch to dry-weather tyres.

I'm sure it will dry up more this afternoon and we are still expecting to get a dry qualifying but it is still worth getting out there and learning as much as you can.
Bits of blue sky peeking through the clouds now. It's looking increasingly likely that we're going to get a dry qualifying session but then this is Melbourne, I've seen it rain there when there's barely been a cloud in the sky. Not quite sure how that works.

We're approaching the end of these runs on inters so here's the latest times as pretty much everyone returns to the pits.
Good showing from the Toro Rosso two, Pierre Gasly fifth quickest with Brendon Hartley sixth.
Gearbox woes sorted, Lance Stroll is about to head out for the first time today and ensure we have the full compliment of drivers getting in some laps in final practice.

But Lewis Hamilton's team-mate Valtteri Bottas is first to the cross the line and go quickest with 1:34.174.
Hamilton is slower than Bottas through sectors two and three and goes second quickest, just 0.051s slower than his fellow Mercedes driver.
Lewis Hamilton is currently 10th quickest after a 1:36.540 but he's just posted the fastest time in sector one.
... and Fernando Alonso goes quickest with 1:34.298, four tenths quicker than Daniel Ricciardo, who had just moved above his Red Bull team-mate Max Verstappen.
The track is improving with every lap and those times posted just two entries ago are already alert.
