Kimi Raikkonen is staying out. He is going to end up a massive loser in this. He is going to get jumped by Hamilton now.
I don't understand what Ferrari are doing.
Lap 23/56
Kimi Raikkonen is staying out there on those 23-lap old softs but Valtteri Bottas is closing with the Mercedes five seconds behind the Ferrari.
1) Raikkonen
2) Bottas +6.2
3) Vettel +1.5
4) Verstappen +6.1
5) Hamilton +2.1
6) Ricciardo +4

Where on earth did that come from?
Vettel must have made a mistake somewhere. Bizarre. Somewhere Vettel has lost a lot of time.
Suddenly it is Bottas' race to lose.
Kimi Raikkonen is in the lead at the moment but will need to make his first stop with those behind him having all stopped for fresh rubber.

We were not expecting that. Bottas came in three-and-a-half seconds behind Vettel. I am astonished.
Lap 22/56
No! The undercut works for Mercedes as Sebastian Vettel, on mediums, comes out just behind Valtteri Bottas.
"Good job," Bottas is told. "You need to stay in front of Vettel."
Lap 21/56
Max Verstappen, currently fourth, puts in the fastest time of the race so far with 1:47.755.
Ferrari do react as Sebastian Vettel pits from the lead. Will he get back out ahead of Valtteri Bottas?

So we now know Hamilton was great when his car was superior but is unable to match drivers whose car is as fast as his. Not the best driver.

Lap 20/56
Valtteri Bottas in a lap later to move onto mediums and is back out in third.
Ferrari to react? Not yet...

Hamilton had to cover Ricciardo there. Now he has got to push like mad to move ahead of Kimi Raikkonen.
Lap 19/56
"Box, do the opposite to Kimi Raikkonen," Lewis Hamilton is told.
The reigning world champion obliges and is onto mediums. He rejoins back ahead of Ricciardo in fifth.

The Red Bulls were on the softer tyre so it is understandable that they changed tyres first. I think they are planning on going to end on these medium tyres.
It was an incredible job by the Red Bull team. They had no time to prepare.
Lap 18/56
The first of the front runners is into the pits. Actually, make that the first two as both Red Bulls are in on the same lap.
Verstappen, pitting from third, and Ricciardo from sixth. Both onto mediums.
Lap 17/56
"Can't get close to Kimi," says Lewis Hamilton.
He's fifth, two seconds behind the Finn.
Its not often you hear a driver apologising to his team so early in a race like Lewis Hamilton did earlier.
Listen again below.
Hamilton apologises to his team for losing a place at the start
Lap 16/56
The top two are really pulling away now with Max Verstappen six seconds behind second-place Valtteri Bottas.
Lap 15/56
No change in the top six since that first lap.
We were spoiled by Bahrain. This has all been a bit flat so far...
