Haas fans speak up!
Matt: Serious question, anyone ever met a Haas F1 fan?
Romain Grosjean goes seventh fastest - the best of the rest, behind the big six, with a time of 1:06.435. He looked set for a good weekend in France, only to hit a wall in Q3, before picking up a five-second penalty for a collision with Force India's Esteban Ocon during the race.
Grosjean, still to pick up a championship point this season, was not happy with the penalty. He said this week: “Did I move my steering wheel? Did I turn to the left? Did I do anything? It’s absolute nonsense.
"I think they [the stewards] were drinking rose wine."
The Haas driver said he texted Ocon to apologise, but still hasn't had a reply.
Pierre Gasly has returned to the pit lane 50 seconds before the 40-minute time limit runs out on his tyres - thus avoiding a repeat of the cock-up that saw him penalised in practice in France last weekend. I suspect that Toro Rosso made doubly sure they were on top of that one.
Stoffel Vandoorne's radio: "I think the front wing is hanging out."
It is indeed - there's a crack there, and he has to divert into the pits. IHe just clipped the kerb on Turn Nine, and that's what's done the damage.
Max Verstappen has a spin at Turn Four, sticking two wheels into the gravel. "Everything OK?" his Red Bull team ask on the radio. "Yeah, just a 360," says Verstappen. He's going back into the pits shortly to give the tyres back - under the 40-minute rule - so no serious harm done.
Let's take a check on the quickest times so far...

3) BOT +0.156

What should Ferrari do? And what should Kimi do?
Adam Johnson: I'm a huge fan of Kimi, i still have his No.1 Ferrari cap from 2008, yet I feel he's lost his racing edge for overtaking. However it's too early for Leclerc. Keep Kimi for one more year, send Leclerc to Haas then take him to Ferrari.
Understandable grumpiness from Sebastian Vettel, as Stoffel Vandoorne exits the pits and drives almost straight across him. Vettel locks but avoids harm.
"Spots of rain," comes the message on Kevin Magnussen's radio. Well, Jennie Gow did warn you...
Robert Kubica has set a time - it's the slowest one out there so far - 1:08.822, par of the course as far as Williams go these days - but good to see him on the track.
No hypersofts this weekend. And honestly, no creatures on the track. Where do you think this is - Montreal?

On Kubica and his injuries from that infamous 2011 crash

He's got only one gear panel - usually you have two. He's also got a slightly different wrap around his body so he has more movement as he was struggling last time. Williams are trying to enable him to drive an Formula 1 car to his best ability, and both cars are vastly different.
Robert Kubica has had the Williams car adapted to take into accountthe serious arm injury he suffered in a crash seven years ago. Jennie Gow has more...
What should Ferrari do? And what should Kimi do?
Ben Harvey Sporle: Always liked Kimi but McLaren isn’t the place for him next year. If Alonso moves on they need someone whose heart is more in it than Kimi’s would be. Has to be Ferrari or nothing for him.
Chris Marsh: I could see Ferrari going for a sneaky bid on Bottas. He's a great team player, good racer and is reliable if not always world changing. Which makes space for Danny Ric at Merc!
Nine drivers have now set a time - including both Mercedes drivers. Lewis Hamilton is quickest with a time of 1:05.825, with Valtteri Bottas next in 1:05.995. We're 20 minutes in.
Good to see Robert Kubica in an F1 car. He's in the Williams of Sergey Sirotkin for P1, and he's just about to head out on to the track.

Max Verstappen is the first driver out there to set a time - 1:06.470. Now there's a driver who has done plenty for his reputation over the past two races. Too many errors from the Red Bull driver in the season's first six grands prix, but he was third in Canada and second in France.

"Kimi Raikkonen was put up for the press conference yesterday, and was asked repeatedly about what's going to happen to him. You can set your clock by the speculation - it usually starts when the clocks go forward. Normally it ends around Silverstone with him being re-signed. There's lots of talk again but they'll probably end up re-signing him, because they always do. He wouldn't get drawn on it."
What should Ferrari do? And what should Kimi do?
Bob McFeil: I think it’d be great for Kimi to join McLaren if Alonso leaves - I don’t know why but sounds like a fun idea!
Life's never dull with Raikkonen around, certainly. Can F1 afford to lose him? Keep sending us your thoughts, please.
Mercedes have brought some significant upgrades to Austria - fresh from Lewis Hamilton's storming run to victory in France with an improved engine. This time around, Mercedes have a new sidepod design , along with upgrades to the rear wing and mirror supports.
"I know they have been working hard," Hamilton said of his team. "I hope it's a significant difference this weekend and I hope that it helps us. I'm excited because when you bolt something to the car, we haven't really bolted anything to the car this year."

We are expecting rain throughout the day, but not when it comes to Sunday, which could make things complicated. Most people have gone out the ultrasoft tyres on the first run.
